In 2013, Teide National Park was declared a Starlight Tourist Destination and Starlight Reserve by the Starlight Foundation and since then the number of tourists interested in astronomy has grown, making Tenerife a popular destination for astronomers worldwide. The low light pollution inside Teide National Park (declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site) is what makes it the perfect place for stargazing in Tenerife, as here you're almost guaranteed great night sky conditions, which will allow you to observe varios stars and constellations. Tenerife has a special law in place in order to protect these pristine star-watching conditions inside Teide National Park, by controlling the flight routes and limiting the light pollution inside the park. At an altitude of 2000 meters, we will discover the constellations designed by our ancestors and their brightest stars. Also we will be using very powerful telescopes.

This is a fantastic location for a breathtaking sunset view like you have never experienced before. Here we also will be able to see the islands on the west of Tenerife. La Gomera, La Palma, and El Hierro. There is some time to get some great pictures and video.

Don’t book any trip with this company!!!
19.09.2026 trip review.: The trip we booked with your company was a waste of money and we feel scammed and robbed. How can you explain the fact the your sell a “sunset trip” and you actually miss the sunset??? The dinner was untasty and rushed. I left the table and went to the toilet for 3 min and the staff already took my dishes with unfinished food and wine. We left the restaurant half an hour before the actual sunset, which was already too late - we were waiting for the guide outside for about 20 minutes without any reason. We arrived at the planned sunset spot maybe 15 min before the sunset, but you didn’t let us out of the bus as you decided to go to another spot with “better weather conditions” where we arrived at 7:58 pm (about 5 min before the sunset!) and again, we couldn’t leave the bus as there were no parking spots - which was NO SURPRISE as people arrive there an HOUR before the sunset, still praying for one single spot. This was absolutely ridiculous. You could have at least cleaned the bus windows for us to see sth more that dust and mud.

The weather conditions are outside our control. Our guides monitor the conditions throughout the evening and, when necessary, make decisions about the best location available in an attempt to provide guests with the best possible sunset and stargazing experience. On this evening, the decision to change location was made because of the weather conditions and was not made to prevent you from seeing the sunset. Unfortunately, the alternative location was very busy and there were no suitable parking spaces available. This is precisely why our guides cannot guarantee that a particular viewpoint will always be accessible at a particular time. Stopping or allowing guests to leave the bus in an unsafe or unsuitable location is not an option. We also want to clarify that this is a sunset and stargazing excursion, not a guarantee that the sun will be visible or that weather conditions will remain clear throughout the evening. Weather and visibility in the mountains can change quickly, and this is something that is explained by the nature of the experience. Regarding the restaurant, it's always important to mention anything you need at the restaurant and not some days after the excursion. However, the restaurant is an independent establishment and the meal service is not operated by our guides. As for the bus windows, before each excursion the bus gets checked and cleaned completely. What you have mentioned is false and not the case. We understand that the evening did not meet your personal expectations, but describing the experience as being “scammed and robbed” is not an accurate representation of what took place. The decisions made by our team that evening were based on the weather, road conditions, safety and availability of suitable locations, with the intention of providing the best experience possible under the circumstances.

Average, unless you like bad jokes
The experience was lovely, however, next time I would go with a different tour operator. The tour guide, Ozzy, was obviously talented in languages, but he just made a fool out of himself so many times it was almost predictable when the next lame joke was about to be made! Even in those special moments when he was explaining about the star constellations such as ursa major, he couldnt hold himself from counting the stars and then "6 - 7". He repeated this so many times as he probably thought he was funny! Sure he is, if you like clowns. Otherwise good value for money.

Fantastic experience
Could not have asked for a better guide than Ozzy! He had fantastic knowledge and was clearly very passionate and very funny. The meal was lovely and the sunset was absolutely stunning! Loved the photos we got. We were in awe staring at the night sky and all the stars and mysterious objects whizzing by. We got to see an eclipse on Jupiter through the telescope and many more interesting things! Highly recommended.

Stargazing with zero light contamination!
I saw that some of the reviews on here for this experience were pretty bad. I think they are unmerited. The only complaint I have is that this tour is overbooked and when you have 50-60 people stumbling in the darkness in pitch black conditions it's not the ideal situation. Me and my mom managed to spot Saturn on the high powered telescopes. The tour guide / host was pretty knowledgeable about the cosmos's and we also got to spot some far away clusters of stars and constellations. Don't expect to see slow exposure type in details galaxies as basically you can't see those with the naked eye. So keep your expectations in check and realistic. However, you can see WAY more Sky gazing wise than any other area in the world that's not a light pollution free environment. Shooting starts, nebulas, brighter and in detailed stars. Your phone may even be able to capture some of it! The meal experience was also too crowded for my taste but I was accommodated to an area outside the restaurant which helped allot. We also got to experience the sunset at altitude near El Teide national park at petrified lava fields. I would say it's also crowded there with other buses and not as safe when people are randomly climbing over sharp rocks. But over all it was a great experience. I also wanted to note that the actual telescope time could be longer for each guest but due to the crowds it's limited.
