About this experience
Teide National Park is one of the best places to admire the sunset in Tenerife. In 2013, Teide National Park was declared a Starlight Tourist Destination and Starlight Reserve by the Starlight Foundation and since then the number of tourists interested in astronomy has grown, making Tenerife a popular destination for astronomers worldwide. The low light pollution inside Teide National Park (declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site) is what makes it the perfect place for stargazing in Tenerife, as here you're almost guaranteed great night sky conditions, which will allow you to observe varios stars and constellations. Tenerife has a special law in place in order to protect these pristine star-watching conditions inside Teide National Park, by controlling the flight routes and limiting the light pollution inside the park. At an altitude of 2000 meters, we will discover the constellations designed by our ancestors and their brightest stars. Also we will be using very powerful telescopes.

Spectacular
Tenerife stars. Ozzy who ran our tour was absolutely amazing and the sites were spectacular! He was very knowledgeable about the stars and really comical and very friendly. He made the trip amazing along with the team.
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your wonderful review! We're thrilled to hear you had such an amazing experience and that Ozzy helped make the evening so memorable. His knowledge of the night sky, great sense of humor, and friendly personality really do make every tour special. We'll be sure to share your kind words with Ozzy and the rest of the team. We truly appreciate your recommendation and hope to welcome you back for another spectacular adventure soon!

Waste money
Too many people on this trip, picks ups around resort took ages, food ok, telescopes had to be set up when we got there then 2 ended up not working. Cloudy night and not well organised to make up for that.
Response from the operator: Not many people on the excursion. What is many people? 10, 20, 30? This is an opinion. All the telescopes are working properly. Probably you have been joining a different excursion. We never had any problems with any of the telescopes. Check your comments and please comment on the right organisation.

Amazing experience
Amazing views and our tour guide Ozzy was extremely knowledgable. The stargazing experience was something I’ll never forget.

Terrible
Ozzy only gave us 50% refund it cost €249 go with a company called Night Sky’s instead we revoked with then and they were amazing
Response from the operator: You should be glad we gave you 50% back. In reality you should not get anything back. You were very disrespectful and you did not even experience our excursion. People who did experience our excursion love it and you can see the great feedback we have. You were making racist comments on the bus against the guide. Shame on you. People like yourself are not appreciated and not welcome to join our excursion.

Great experience, could be improved
Great trip. Ozzy was perfect host. Only issue was 50 people queueing for 3 telescopes, tbe viewfinders of which were difficult to locate in the dark (use luminous tape?) A better way to do it may be to use the best telescope and project it's image onto white screen so everyone could see at once. Nevertheless great experience and highly recommend.

Why this scores 53
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Sunset & Stargazing in El Teide: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Tenerife.
How much does Sunset & Stargazing in El Teide cost?
+
Prices start at $77 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Tenerife usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Sunset & Stargazing in El Teide take?
+
Plan for about 6 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Tenerife is not rushed.
Is Sunset & Stargazing in El Teide worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 53 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (3.7/5 across 55 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Tenerife, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Sunset & Stargazing in El Teide?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Sunset & Stargazing in El Teide suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 6-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Sunset & Stargazing in El Teide?
+
Around 19 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Tenerife can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Tenerife and add a light layer if any part of the 6-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Sunset & Stargazing in El Teide start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Tenerife within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Tenerife?
+
On Outty we rank every Tenerife experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Whale watching & listening Eco-Catamaran Tour with Snacks &Drinks, Group Surfing Lesson at Playa de las Américas, Tenerife, 3-hour Whale and Dolphin Watching and Listening Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Tenerife?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Tenerife?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
