Royal Independence Gardens
The Royal Garden is popular with domestic and International Tourists. On the north of the garden is the largest colonial-style hotel built at the same time as the Royal garden during the French occupation (Raffles Grand d’Angkor Hotel). On the South of the Garden is the Royal Resident which located along the River bank.

Preah Ang Chek Preah Ang Chom Temple
The Preah Ang Chek Preah Ang Chorm shrine is a religious shrine. It is located within the compound of the Royal Residence where two statues referred to as Preah Ang Chek and Preah Ang Chorm are worshipped since 1982. The statues of Preah Ang Chek Preah Ang Chorm were both bronze statues rediscovered in 1950 in the forest around Angkor Thom by Angkor conservation officials. It is believed that the statue of Preah Ang Chek and Preah Ang Chorm were originally kept in the temple of Angkor Wat. According to the Institute of the Humanities and Social Sciences of the Royal Academy of Cambodia, Khmer king Ang Chan I or Chan Reachea who ascended the throne in the 16th century would have allowed the installation of the two bronze statues in Angkor Wat in honor of these two princesses, which were considered by then as bodhisattvas who received great honour and veneration. The statues were later lost as Angkor Wat was neglected.

Wat Preah Prom Rath

Terrible
It was a total disappointment. We drove around To two temples that we had already visited during the day. Then we go to this little roadside food stand. The food took forever to calm, there wasn’t much of a choice, and the food was terrible. We did a food tour a couple years ago in Vietnam that was fantastic. We drove around to four or five different restaurants getting something different in each one. So as you can see, this was a total disappointment.

Our guide took you to visit the Wat Prohm Roath temple and skipped the Royal Independence Garden because you said you had already visited it the day before. The street food you have been to was local, and the guide briefed you already before the tour started. The first stop - you saw a variety of fried insects such as crickets, grasshoppers, silk worms, water beetles, etc. You took a box of mixed Cambodian rice Cakes home. The 2nd stop you tasted Rice pancake, fried spring rolls, Sugar cane juice, Rice crispy pancake, roasted beef, and Cambodian noodle soup. The guide asked you if you needed local beer, fried rice, or fried noodles, but you said that is enough for you. We hope you understand this. We wish you and your family all the best. Cambodian Street Food
We had a wonderful time trying out Cambodian street food last night. Our guide speaks very good English and is rather knowledgeable. We are very glad that we gave the street food a go, which had very different taste profiles compared to the food you get from a sit-down restaurant. Definitely worth trying if you are a foodie, or simply have an adventurous spirit and want to try out new things.
