Eye-Opening Street Food Adventure with So
Our street food tour in Siem Reap with So was absolutely fantastic and one of the highlights of our trip. Guide (So): So is an exceptional guide. His knowledge of Cambodian cuisine and culture brought every stop to life. His English is excellent, and he explained each dish with enthusiasm and clarity. What made the tour even more special was how well-connected he is—he knew many of the market traders personally, which meant we got to try fruits and snacks we’d never have found on our own. Food Experience: We sampled grasshoppers, silkworms, and frogs, all prepared in authentic local styles. So encouraged us to be adventurous while making sure we understood the traditions behind each dish. He balanced the more daring bites with fresh fruits and market treats, giving us a complete picture of Cambodian street food. The combination of So’s warmth, knowledge, and connections made the evening unforgettable. If you want to experience Siem Reap’s street food scene in the most authentic and enjoyable way, I highly recommend booking with So.

We are absolutely thrilled to hear that our Street Food Tour in Siem Reap with So was one of the highlights of your trip. It is reviews like this that truly motivate our team. We couldn't agree more that his connection with the local market traders is what makes the experience so unique, allowing our guests to discover truly authentic flavors and treats they might otherwise miss. We’re delighted you embraced the Food Experience fully, sampling the grasshoppers, silkworms, and frogs! So's goal is always to balance those adventurous bites with the delicious fresh fruits and market snacks to provide a complete and authentic picture of our street food scene. We hope to welcome you back to Siem Reap again someday! Warmest Regards, Phalla Chhou (Mr.Paul) Operations Assistant Tel & WhatsApp:+85512334657 E-mail:info@journeycambodia.com

Lucky tour guide and memorable experience
We signed up last minute on this Street Food Tasting tour and it was successfully accepted. We met the tour guide, Samnang Yean (Lucky), at the location documented on the website. We were the only two participants on this tour. Lucky was very friendly and articulate by explaining all the foods we ate. The most interesting food tasting experience was eating roasted bugs and roasted baby frogs. We ended the tour with a sitdown dinner at a western style restaurant and learned more about Lucky and Cambodia's history. Lucky did an outstanding job to help us with a memorable experience in Cambodia. I strongly recommend this tour (hope you are lucky enough to get Lucky as your tour guie).
Response from the operator: Dear Joel, Thank you so much for your fantastic review! Great tour with Sok!
Sok was a wonderful guide, sharing his knowledge and perspectives as well as finding delicious food suited to our tastes. No crickets for me but my husband loved them! He also took me to a shop to buy silk yarn which I hadn’t been able to accomplish during my 2 weeks in SE Asia. A fun night!
Response from the operator: Dear Sarah, Thank you so much for your wonderful review! We're thrilled to hear that you had such a great time with Sok. He's passionate about sharing his knowledge and making sure his guests have a memorable experience. We're also glad he was able to help you find the perfect silk yarn after your long search. Enlightening and delicious!
Our guide, Nil, picked us up from our hotel in a tuk tuk, then we were driven to two different night markets and one cafe/shop. We tried and tasted so many different delicious things! Fruits plucked straight of baskets, fried insects, sweets, liqueurs, biscuits, and then a tapas style dinner of savoury pancakes, fish cakes, fried coconut balls, and curried noodle soup. Nil was a fountain of knowledge and we really enjoyed spending time with her and hearing about Khmer food and culture! She was personable, spoke excellent English and her engaging conversation made the tour special. A must-do on your first night in Siem Reap!

Why this scores 63
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Street Food Tasting Tour including Dinner: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Siem Reap.
How much does Street Food Tasting Tour including Dinner cost?
+
Prices start at $19 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Siem Reap usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Street Food Tasting Tour including Dinner take?
+
Plan for about 3.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Siem Reap is not rushed.
Is Street Food Tasting Tour including Dinner worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 63 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.5/5 across 27 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Siem Reap, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Street Food Tasting Tour including Dinner?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Street Food Tasting Tour including Dinner suitable for kids and families?
+
The operator sets a minimum age of 8. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 3.5-hour running time when deciding.
How far in advance should I book Street Food Tasting Tour including Dinner?
+
Around 9 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Siem Reap can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Siem Reap and add a light layer if any part of the 3.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Street Food Tasting Tour including Dinner start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Siem Reap within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Siem Reap?
+
On Outty we rank every Siem Reap experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Angkor Wat Sunrise or Sunset Small-Group and Guide tours, Angkor Wat full Day 'Small Group with sunset & Tour Guide, Angkor Wat Sunrise or Sunset Tour with Guide from Siem Reap. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Siem Reap?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Siem Reap?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
