Great Experience Stepping into the Yukon
My family had an amazing time on this excursion. Marissa was our guide and she's the owner of Alaska Snowbird Tours. She was amazing and very knowledgeable. We loved the stories she shared during the drive to and from the Yukon. They were personal stories and stories of the residents of Skagway. The scenic stops were breathtaking. We had an amazingly beautiful day. My son even spotted a black bear near the side of the road and Marissa heard him say "I think I just saw a bear" and she turned our van around and there was the black bear on the standing on the side of the road. Great sighting! The Dog Sled portion of the tour was great. We learned about the Iditarod Dog Sled race and the dogs were beautiful. My family loved being able to interact with the Alaskan Huskie puppies. It was an amazing day and thank you Marissa for making it special. I would definitely recommend Alaska Snowbird Tours.

I wish I could give this more than five stars; it was definitely a highlight of our trip! Marissa gave us the best experience possible—she had so much knowledge of the area and is fun to listen to with lots of stories from her experiences! She gives a lot of attention to detail; making sure the windows are clean to get the best view along the ride, making sure everyone gets pictures, and making connections with all of her guests! We made many beautiful stops along the way and thoroughly enjoyed the once in a lifetime experience of the dog sledding camp! If you are thinking of booking this excursion, do not hesitate! Worth every penny and more….

We LOVED this excursion!!
I was worried that for our first time in Skagway, I had chosen the wrong excursion. I kept reading that the train was the "thing to do". But I am SO glad that we chose this one instead! From the very beginning, Marissa was so helpful and informative, not just with the history of Skagway and the territory that we drove through, but with the sled dog training camp too. We stopped many times for scenic views and pictures on the way there and back, while she offered commentary on everything we saw. The ride with the sled dogs was so fun and the views on the run were spectacular (especially with the dogs running in front of us!) We got to meet Michelle, who trains the dogs and races the Iditarod - such an honor! We learned so much about the race too, which my husband & I will be following each year from now on! We highly recommend this excursion!

The Gold Standard for Tour Guides
Marissa was absolutely phenomenal from start to finish. She greeted us warmly, had everything organized for the border crossing into Canada, and made the entire day feel effortless. Her knowledge of Skagway, the Klondike Gold Rush, the Yukon, local wildlife, and the history of the region was incredible. She shared fascinating facts throughout the day, but what really made her stand out was how she mixed in personal stories and local insight that made us feel connected not only to the area, but to the people who call it home. I've been on a lot of guided tours over the years, and this was easily one of the top five I've ever experienced. Marissa clearly knows the area inside and out. I loved that she wasn't locked into a rigid script. If a stop was crowded or conditions weren't ideal, she adjusted on the fly and took us somewhere better. It was obvious that her priority was giving us the best possible experience, not simply checking boxes on an itinerary. She was also incredibly knowledgeable about the sled dogs and the mushing community. You could tell she is well respected and genuinely passionate about what she does. Throughout the day she went above and beyond, offering to hold bags, helping guests, pointing out wildlife, and even taking fantastic photos for people. Most importantly, she made everyone feel welcome and taken care of. By the end of the tour, it felt less like we had spent the day with a guide and more like we had spent the day with a knowledgeable local friend who wanted to show us the very best of her corner of Alaska.
