Saint Catherine Monastery – Christian monastery
It was a long and tiring journey, but it was absolutely worth it. We left Sharm El Sheikh at 7:30 in the morning by private taxi. After about 200 km, we arrived at around 11:00. We paid a $10 entrance fee to the Saint Catherine Protectorate. Near the entrance to the monastery, there is another checkpoint, and then you have to walk for about 15–20 minutes. However, you can also take a bus for $1 per person. The monastery is not very large. Inside, there is a library with ancient manuscripts, a fresco, a prayer area containing the relics of Saint Catherine, and a place filled with history and heartfelt prayers. You can also buy small souvenirs at quite reasonable prices, considering that you are so far away from everything. You can even find accommodation nearby. I will leave the phone number of a young man named Ahmed: +20 100 658 3282. At the monastery, you can find all the necessary information. Christians can pray, fast, or take part in various activities with the monks. The long journey was worth it. The soul is more important than the body!

Great hotel
Clean and beautiful hotel the staff are so excellent so friendly and couldn't do enough for us. Very child friendly mini disco in the evening which our 2 year old loved the only complaint was she wanted it to go on for longer. Bar staff are incredible very quick and made the best cocktails. Abd was exceptional. Would definitely recommend and return.

+
Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?

What are the best things to do in Sharm el Sheikh?
+
On Outty we rank every Sharm el Sheikh experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Sharm El Sheikh: Ras Mohammed Snorkeling, Allah Gate & Top Sights, ATV Quad Bike & Camel Ride, Echo Mountain – Sharm El Sheikh, Sharm : Cairo Excursion by Flight, Pyramid GEM or Ancient Museum. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Sharm el Sheikh?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Sharm el Sheikh?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
