Delicious and fun foodie experience
This was one of the highlights from our time in Split. Our chef, Petar, was incredible! He met us near the farmer’s market to buy fresh produce for our meals and shared the history and rules of the market. We then stopped at the fish market-a building we had passed many times but never knew what it is until this experience. Back at the academy, we learned how to check that fish is fresh as well as how to clean them. While we cooked, we tasted four different liqueors-walnut, carob, lemon, and elderberry-all delicious! The food we prepared was delicious-baked dorado, sardines, sea bass carpaccio, calamari risotto, grilled veggies, homemade bread, chard and potatoes, salad, and rozata cake. We left with full bellies and new cooking skills to use when we return home.
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your wonderful review! It was a pleasure spending the day with you, from exploring the local markets to cooking together in our kitchen. Petar will be especially happy to hear your kind words. We appreciate your recommendation and hope to welcome you back to Split for another culinary adventure!

Delicious and fun cooking experience
This was FANTASTIC! We loved the visit to the local produce and fish markets to start the tour and learning the history of the city along the walk to the cooking school. We also learned how to clean fish and test that it’s fresh. Our lead chef was wonderful (our class ended up being private), teaching us how to cook sardines, dorado, carpacchio, risotto with calamari, homemade bread, and rozata cake. I highly recommend if you are a foodie and want an authentic Dalmatian experience!
Response from the operator: Dear Victoria, Thank you for your fantastic review! We're so happy you enjoyed discovering our local markets, learning about Dalmatian food traditions, and preparing the dishes together. It's wonderful to hear that you appreciated the private class atmosphere We hope to cook with you again the next time you're in Split!

This was such an...
This was such an excellent experience. The instructor was incredibly knowledgeable, explained everything very well and was fun to be with in the kitchen. I learned how to clean a fish, something that has always intimidated me, and he made it so easy. Our meal was delicious, we made so much food I won’t need to eat again today!
Response from the operator: Dear Debora, Thank you so much for your wonderful review! We're delighted to hear that you enjoyed both the cooking and the learning experience. It sounds like you had a fantastic time in the kitchen, and we're glad you left with new skills, great memories, and a very full stomach! We hope to welcome you back for another culinary adventure whenever you're in Split.

Amazing cooking experience inSplit
We had a wonderful experience cooking wth Bruna on our recent trip to Split. We were fortunate enough to have a private class where we cooked numerous local dishes, the focus on seafood. I learned how to cook risotto the right way, as we were lead by the excellent chef Bruna. We really enjoed our experience with her and highly recommed this cooking class if you visit Split.
Response from the operator: Thank you for your lovely review! We’re so happy to hear that you enjoyed your time cooking with Chef Bruna. A private class is always a special experience, and we're glad you had the opportunity to dive into local seafood dishes while learning new techniques along the way. Risotto may look simple, but as you've discovered, there are a few secrets that make all the difference! Bruna will be delighted to hear your kind words.

Why this scores 77
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Split Cooking Class: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Split.
How much does Split Cooking Class cost?
+
Prices start at $207 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Split usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Split Cooking Class take?
+
Plan for about 5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Split is not rushed.
Is Split Cooking Class worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 77 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 158 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Split, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Split Cooking Class?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Split Cooking Class suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Split Cooking Class?
+
Around 55 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Split can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Split and add a light layer if any part of the 5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Split Cooking Class start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Split within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Split?
+
On Outty we rank every Split experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Split Small-Group Walking Tour with a Magister of History, Split Walking Tour with Professor of History, From Split: Krka Waterfalls, Food & Wine Tasting Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Split?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Split?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
