Interesting and scenic
This tour is a good way to see some of the south coast highlights for those with limited time. First stop was 'unscheduled', to a herb and spice garden set on beautiful Koggala Lake. Here you are offered the opportunity to purchase products made from various the herbs and spices. A 45 minute boat trip on the lake also offered at a cost of 8,200 rupees. The tea plantation visit was interesting, with tea tasting, a walk through part of the plantation and factory and a free cuppa and cake. This tea estate can be visited independently at no cost. I had asked for the itinerary on this trip to be modified slightly to include a visit to Coconut Tree Hill. A really scenic spot! The driver's vehicle was clean and he spoke reasonable English. He did seem a little preoccupied with his mobile phone though ..
