Professional in every way
We had arranged in advance of our cruise to take this tour and, in fact, had worked with Felician Fernando (felician@lakpura.lk) to personalize it by creating a more comprehensive itinerary. He was absolutely wonderful to work with, answering all of my emails promptly and corresponding with me via many emails to make everything perfect and include all of the sites we wanted to see. We were so excited to meet him and take the tour we had planned. Unfortunately, our cruise ship canceled the port of Colombo the day before we were supposed to arrive. We contacted Felician with the sad news, and he immediately refunded all of our money, despite the short notice. I cannot compliment him enough for the professional way in which he handled the situation. I hope that anyone who is planning a trip to Sri Lanka will contact Felician at Lakpura LLC to schedule a tour. You could not be in better hands. We certainly look forward to touring with him when we are able to get to Sri Lanka.

Absolutely brilliant!
We did the tour yesterday. Mr Christos was a very safe driver and had an easy going manner. The tea plantation was absolutely stunning. The tour was friendly and there was no pressure to tip. Our lunch in Galle was delicious and we loved the view of the water. Highly recommend doing this tour if you are staying in Colombo. It gives you a great overview of the coast!

Great walking tour by Ceylon Soul
We had a very interesting and informative walking tour of the fortified town of Galle with Ceylon Soul. Our guide, Atheeq, was very knowledgeable and had a good sense of humour. It was a very informative tour. I highly recommend it.

Fantastic Beautiful Tour
This tour was amazing! I was picked up in Colombo so it was a great drive down south along the coast. We visited a turtle rescue farm, fishing village and the most spectacular boat ride through the islands. Not to mention the cinnamon farm and the spectacular site from the lighthouse on the fort. Highly recommend this tour. My guide Keerthe was friendly and accommodating!

Private Galle Fort Day Tour
Our chauffeur guide-Mr. Christo Alvis - was amazing. It was like he was a member of the family. He explained the various sights along the way to Galle Fort and gladly stopped along the way as needed. He stopped at a ayurvedic spa before going to Galle and what an unexpected treat that was. All I wanted was some spices, but I got so much more. Once we arrived at Galle Fort we had lunch at a nice restaurant that served everything from stingray to prawns - both were quite good I might add. After lunch and a drive through the fort we were off to a tea plantation. Since it had already been a long day, I asked if we could do a shortened version of a tea tour--just taste some and buy some. Christo explained this to the gentleman that met us at the tea plantation and we received an explanation/visualization of how virgin tea is picked, sampled at least 20 teas and purchased what we needed. After this long day, we were back on our way to our hotel; which was close to 2 hours in rush hour traffic. I'd recommend getting a private tour because you have the driver for the day and you see so much more this way.

Why this scores 62
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Southern Coast Highlights from Colombo: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Colombo.
How much does Southern Coast Highlights from Colombo cost?
+
Prices start at $91 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Colombo usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Southern Coast Highlights from Colombo take?
+
Plan for about 10 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Colombo is not rushed.
Is Southern Coast Highlights from Colombo worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 62 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 6 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Colombo, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Southern Coast Highlights from Colombo?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Southern Coast Highlights from Colombo suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 10-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Southern Coast Highlights from Colombo?
+
Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Colombo can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Colombo and add a light layer if any part of the 10-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Southern Coast Highlights from Colombo start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Colombo within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Colombo?
+
On Outty we rank every Colombo experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Flexi dates on all 5 to 7 days packages for car and English speaking driver, Sri Lanka Personal Tour Driver in private vehicle, 08 Nights in Magical Sri Lanka. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Colombo?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Colombo?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
