Driver Good, Operator Poor

The ride itself and the driver were just fine. However, we were delayed by the disembarkation process in getting off the ship. The operator of the transfer tried to extort additional fees for wait time by the driver at the ship, stating the wait time was only 15 minutes when the listing clearly says the fee incudes a wait time of 45 minutes. Additionally, the description of the transfer states it includes driving by notable sites on the way to our hotel destination. We were informed by the operator that the transfer only includes driving straight to the hotel. Any deviation would require booking a separate tour.

The company that we used,...

The company that we used, Karline, was very responsive to a schedule change we had to make at the last minute.

Cruise terminal pick up

Even though I had provided details of pick up location..and was provided Driver's name and car type, etc..we waited over half an hour with no contact...very distressful. Once we finally connected, Ronaldo, our driver, he told us he was waiting for you folks to allow him to proceed. Nor fair to hi. Or us, I think Once on the road Ronaldo was great !

Sent wrong car

They sent the wrong car to pick me up - a much cheaper class and size than I was charged. Called Viator to complain and received excellent attention to my issue

Disappointed in Southampton england

This was a huge disappointment. I have used Viator many times with no issues and always had a great experience. So when my son asked me to book a transfer for he and his wife from Southampton notafter their cruise ended to their hotel in London I immediately went online and chose this transfer. I upgraded to the Executive Saloon for more $ as it touted a class E high end vehicle and a great drive. I also spent several hours talking with various agents to make sure it was a luxury ride for the two tof them and the car would be a Mercedes or comparable. First off, their driver was late as he got lost. Secondly he was in a Tesla that smelled like a cigar factory. Hardly high end. He appeared half sick, lost and to top it off, had to stop and actually charge his car. They did eventually get to London in a drive that took longer than needed while inhaling unwanted tobacco smoke. They didn’t refuse the ride as they were stuck and had no other alternative. When told of this that same day, I called immediately and reported it to Viator. They were to send ME a form for refund request (I paid for this transfer -$307.70)) and review but only sent my son, not me, an email stating they had investigated the claim and found no issue and would not honor my request for a refund and the issue was closed so don’t respond. I never sent a request for a refund as we never got a form to request one. I then wrote a letter to their customer service, who has yet to respond. I have gone ahead and disputed some of the charge with my credit card company. I’m not asking for full refund - just partial - as my son did get to London, just not in the manner and comfort that was advertised. My suggestion, avoid them for any transfer from Southampton to London. Especially if they continue to use the car service my son got stuck with.

Southampton to London Transfers: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Southampton.

How much does Southampton to London Transfers cost?

+

Prices start at $200 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Southampton usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Southampton to London Transfers take?

+

Plan for about 1.8 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Southampton is not rushed.

Is Southampton to London Transfers worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 48 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (3.3/5 across 9 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Southampton, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Southampton to London Transfers?

+

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Southampton to London Transfers suitable for kids and families?

+

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 1.8-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Southampton to London Transfers?

+

Around 3 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Southampton can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Southampton and add a light layer if any part of the 1.8-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Southampton to London Transfers start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Southampton within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Southampton?

+

On Outty we rank every Southampton experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Journey Through Winchester's Past, Walk the Secrets of the Titanic, New Forest E-Bike Adventure. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Southampton?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Southampton?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
