Flawless, knowledgeable, and very accomodating
Our driver and guide Hilly was amazing for this private tour. Very accommodating on adding/changing stops and giving recommendations. He also gave great advice on where to get food and crampons for icy roads. Highly recommended! He was also a very skilled driver. My parents are older and slower, and he was very understanding and would plan routes and pick-up locations accordingly.
Response from the operator: Thank you for the review! We’re so glad Hilly could make your private tour smooth and enjoyable, and that his care and flexibility helped your parents feel comfortable throughout the trip 😊

One of the best tour!! Professional tour guide!!
One of the best tours (also the guide)!! We had so many memorable moments! Big thanks to our guide and driver - Saga! She is so knowledgeable! She brought us to so many beautiful scenery in the south coast!! And on our last night in Iceland, all northern night bus tours were cancelled and we really wanted to witness the northern nights with my mum. And she made it!! Sage is experienced at weather!!!

Absolutely amazing tour!
We did a private South Coast tour, and I have to say it was one of the best tours I have ever been on. Our driver, Jón, was amazing and very informative. We had so much fun learning about Iceland, seeing so many beautiful sights and making wonderful memories. I would highly suggest using this company for your tour in Iceland, you won't regret it!
Response from the operator: Hi Jen it was a pleasure for me to had a great time all the best and thanks for the review regards Jon

We had a great day!
Our group enjoyed the private tour, we set our own pace so we could see everything and not be exhausted! Guide was great, had lots of interesting stories and we had a delightful day. It was our best van tour over the 5 days we were touring the Reykjavik area.

Push👍🏻👍🏻
This winter to come to Iceland, dare not drive, want to plan their own trip to the place they want to go and don't want to join with others, the Internet climbing over the last time chose the Friend in Iceland, the first time is to contact with Gunnar, she was very kindly answered too quickly, after arriving in Iceland is Gunnar driving us four to play, he is a very professional and careful guide, will also remember our midway temporarily proposed requirements, practical talk will bring us to realization, and it is really good to have Gunnar with us, he knows the weather conditions to respond, because so we are not caught in the storm snow, but can carry us in the weather rather good storm snow center to continue, we are four are sitting nine persons in the bus car, very comfortable, new vision is good, driving in the snow is also great. Later one day was to take a game for Yuan Yuan, she is like our grand sister taking care of us, on the way and tell us the various stories of Iceland, in sending us back to the accommodation we thought that the day there was no chance to see the bright light, the result is that Yuan Yuan called us in the evening to say there is a bright light can take us to see, we really almost happy in the restaurant to scream 🙂 Their travel agency information is not shared by many people in Taiwan so I want to let everyone know more about their travel agency through my experience this time, we chose a 6 day fully customized custom tour, although the cost to see at the beginning will feel like a little high, but these days really feel worth it! People who want to go to Iceland to play but don't dare to drive themselves and don't want to join with others can consider, is really a trusted travel agency!

Why this scores 57
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
South Coast - Private: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Reykjavik.
How much does South Coast - Private cost?
+
Prices start at $1400 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Reykjavik usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does South Coast - Private take?
+
Plan for about 9 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Reykjavik is not rushed.
Is South Coast - Private worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 57 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 8 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Reykjavik, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule South Coast - Private?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is South Coast - Private suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 9-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book South Coast - Private?
+
Around 3 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Reykjavik can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Reykjavik and add a light layer if any part of the 9-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does South Coast - Private start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Reykjavik within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Reykjavik?
+
On Outty we rank every Reykjavik experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Reykjavik Food Walk - Local Foodie Adventure in Iceland, Small-Group Golden Circle, Blue Lagoon with Ticket & Kerid Crater, Reykjavík Small group Walking Tour - by CityWalk. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Reykjavik?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Reykjavik?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
