Seljalandsfoss is a supremely graceful waterfall fed by the meltwater of the Eyjafjallajokull glacier. 2. Gljufrabui Waterfalls

Glufrabui is an exquisite waterfall about 40 meters (130 feet) high, hidden in a gorge just 560 meters (1,850 feet) from the famous Seljalandsfoss waterfall. Stopping at a large waterfall, we shall follow the path at the foot of the cliff straight to the gorge, where the Glufrabui is hidden.

    3. Skogafoss

Skogafoss, one of Iceland's largest and most elegant waterfalls, is 60 meters (195 feet) high and 25 meters (75 feet) wide. The waterfall generates a lot of spray, which on sunny days often creates a vibrant single or even double rainbow, adding to the charm of Skogafoss Falls. We will be able to walk to the foot of the waterfall and also walk the stairs to the observation deck to see the waterfall from above. After visiting the Skogafoss, we recommend stopping for lunch at the nearby Bistro Bar restaurant.

    4. Dyrholaey

Dyrholaey is an incredible rock formation and headland on the south coast of Iceland. At the top of the cliff, at an altitude of 120 meters (390 ft), is an old working lighthouse. From here, we enjoy stunning views of the Atlantic Ocean, black sand beaches, and glaciers covering the Katla and Eyjafjallajokull volcanoes.

      30 minutes here

    5. Reynisfjara Beach

Reynisfjara is the most famous black sand beach on the south coast of Iceland. Its beautiful sand and pebbles, vertical basalt columns, powerful ocean waves, and the nearby Reynisdrangar rocks at the sea make Reinisfjara a truly unique place to visit.

      40 minutes here

    6. Solheimajokull Glacier

Solheimajokull glacier has many impressive ice formations, including crevasses, steep ridges, and dips. Solheimajokull is the glacial tongue of Myrdalsjokull, Iceland's fourth largest glacier, which covers the mighty and impressive Katla volcano. We can walk the trail from the parking lot to the glacier, feel its coldness, and even touch the thousand-year-old ice. The glacier hike is not included in the tour program and can be organized additionally at your request.

Perfect day on the South Coast

Perfect day with a perfect guide! Sergei was one in a million and the tour was excellent! We saw everything we wanted to see and more. He was very helpful with our restrictions in mobility and moved at our pace. No rush and the day was ours. Thank you for all the help with my wife and allowing us to see your beautiful country. If you are on the fence about booking this tour, just do it! Absolutely well worth it!!

Response from the operator: Dear Kevin, I loved spending the day on the south coast with you and Susan! Thank you so much for your wonderful review and kind words. Wishing you all the best!

A truly amazing day out with Sergei!

We had an incredible day out on our South Coast private tour with Sergei. The driving conditions over the mountains were quite bad with snow on the road, but Sergei was a very safe driver and reassuring. He made sure we were comfortable and happy throughout our tour. He also reserved a table at a restaurant for us to stop for lunch. Sergei was very knowledgable and we learnt so much about the history and geography of Iceland from him. He showed us all the best places to stop for photos and also took incredible photos of us on our phones. The waterfalls, glacier and black beach were truly spectacular and beautiful and we will always remember this amazing day out. If you are thinking of booking a private tour in Iceland, I would thoroughly recommend you book with Sergei.

Response from the operator: Dear Caroline, thank you for your review and recommendations. I am glad you enjoyed the trip with me and that you have good memories of our South Coast tour.

    Amazing South Coast

We had a great day touring the South Coast with Sergei on a cold and blustery day. The sights are amazingly beautiful, and the weather simply added to the experience. Sergei is full of knowledge and made us feel so comfortable and took great care of us. We would do it again in a heartbeat!

Response from the operator: Dear Marco, Thank you so much for your review and kind words. I shall be happy to assist you more if you have a chance to visit Iceland again.

South Coast. Private Day Tour from Reykjavik: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Reykjavik.

How much does South Coast. Private Day Tour from Reykjavik cost?

    +

Prices start at $285 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Reykjavik usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does South Coast. Private Day Tour from Reykjavik take?

    +

Plan for about 10 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Reykjavik is not rushed.

Is South Coast. Private Day Tour from Reykjavik worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 80 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 90 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable most popular in Reykjavik, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule South Coast. Private Day Tour from Reykjavik?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is South Coast. Private Day Tour from Reykjavik suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 10-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book South Coast. Private Day Tour from Reykjavik?

    +

Around 31 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Reykjavik can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Reykjavik and add a light layer if any part of the 10-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does South Coast. Private Day Tour from Reykjavik start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Reykjavik within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Reykjavik?

    +

On Outty we rank every Reykjavik experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Reykjavik Food Walk - Local Foodie Adventure in Iceland, Small-Group Golden Circle, Blue Lagoon with Ticket & Kerid Crater, Reykjavík Small group Walking Tour - by CityWalk. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Reykjavik?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Reykjavik?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
