Wife’s 40th
This trip was booked for my wife’s 40th birthday. Vincent was an amazing driver. Very polite, on time, and open for suggestions! Very clean car and comfortable. Only reason not to give 5 stars was promised a photo op at the bay bridge and a stop in a small town after that. Definitely 5 stars to Vincent and 4 to the tour company.
Response from the operator: Thank you once again for choosing us to host your wife's birthday wine tour with her friends. We truly appreciate the opportunity to be part of such a special occasion. We are always happy to accommodate guest requests whenever possible. Since you were not traveling with the group, you may not have been aware that the Golden Gate Bridge was completely covered in fog that day—a very common occurrence in San Francisco. In fact, the local fog is so famous that it even has a name: "Karl." When conditions permit, we are often happy to make a scenic stop at the bridge on the return journey. Unfortunately, on your wife's special day, Karl decided to put on his own performance and keep the bridge hidden from view. We hope your wife and her friends had a wonderful time exploring wine country and were able to enjoy views of the Golden Gate Bridge during the rest of their stay in San Francisco. Thank you again for entrusting us with such a memorable celebration. We sincerely appreciate your business and hope to welcome you back to wine country in the future. Warm regards,

Late, late, late but survived!
After talking to the manager and reading reviews of different companies, I selected this one to drive 6 people to 3 wineries in the north part of Napa/Calistoga. Online and prior to the day of our driver, Viator (the company) was easy to work with. I asked for a 9:30am pickup, stop to get our ordered sandwiches and then off to our first winery at 10:30am (40 min away). When the driver (or office or dispatch) told us he would arrive at 9:51am to get us loaded, we had to get the sandwiches ahead of pickup time. This became the theme of the day. His dispatch should have had him arrive at our requested 9:30am pick up with a cooler and waters and I was told would be provided. Instead, we were picked up at 9:51, with a 10:40 arrival time for a 10:30am tour. There was no apology for the delay, or any effort made to make up time in the drive on the way to the first winery - the driver went 35-40 on the 55mph zones and added time to our drive while telling us it was “no problem” that we were going to be late. It was the driver and/or dispatcher’s fault that we were going to be late, and yet there was no concern or addressing of this to try and improve the situation (I.e. driving quicker, apologizing, offering to call the winery and let them know, etc). On the way to our first winery, Abby turned left too slowly onto Hwy. 29 where we were SO close to being t-Boned by a fast oncoming car. We nearly died…… His driving skills were very concerning. He was all over the road zig zagging from the rumble strips to double lines the entire day, and his constant correcting to center the car from this zig zag motion was extremely jerky. Any time someone in the car spoke, he turned his head and eyes completely away from the road, which was concerning and dangerous. This also lead to more zig zag motions of the car, leading us to worry that we were going to go off the road or into oncoming traffic (we almost did from him crossing the double line and going onto the other side of the road when a car was coming at us). He didn’t drive at a consistent speed, often 10-20 mph below the speed limit despite knowing we were running late the whole day. One of the adults in our party gets car sick and she felt ill all day from the driving. All in all, the extreme under-the-speed-limit driving, almost causing us to get T-boned due to pulling out in front of cars without accelerating, taking his eyes off of the road, driving on the wrong side of the road and almost into oncoming traffic, and constant zig zagging across the entire lane was concerning, stressful, terrifying, and utterly unacceptable. Although he was pleasant most of the time, he was not empathetic with us being late to all 3 winery stops and made no attempts to improve the situation, as previously stated. He said that all of the wineries are used to people being late which was not comforting to us. We are members at 2 of the 3 wineries and being late for every single appointment was embarrassing. It was not the way we wanted to present ourselves. He struggled to use the GPS and made multiple wrong turns in addition to missing turns. We had to navigate for him to get to O’Shaughnessy after he went down a private “no trespassing” road from not following the GPS or knowing the route ahead of time. Overall, it was a very disappointing and scary driving experience. We were thankful to arrive home alive but had multiple instances that caused us to be stressed and scared while the driver was behind the wheel. Driving into oncoming traffic, on the wrong side of the road, extremely below the speed limit, and all over the road while not knowing where he was going was unacceptable. I would never use this company again and especially not the driver Abhi / Abby.
Response from the operator: Thank you for your feedback. From the outset, you expressed concerns regarding the cost of the service, and we offered the option to explore other providers in the Valley if that would be a better fit for your expectations. All of our drivers are seasoned professionals, each with **300+ tours in Napa Valley**, and safety is always our top priority. On the day of your tour, many roads in the Valley had closures and one-way traffic due to seasonal tree trimming, which required extra caution and defensive driving. Additionally, three of the wineries on your itinerary were located in the mountain ranges on the opposite side of Napa Valley, which we discussed during our initial conversations. These routes involve winding roads and elevation changes that require careful driving. While our drivers take every precaution to ensure a smooth ride, some degree of motion sensitivity on these roads can be unavoidable. Leading up to the tour, we had several phone conversations during which the **departure time was changed multiple times** and ultimately never fully confirmed. We sent multiple dispatch confirmations with suggested pickup times to help keep your schedule on track. Additionally, the **pickup location was changed the night before**, which created a risk of further delay. You arrived at your first tasting only **13 minutes behind schedule**, which is well within the typical grace period accepted by wineries. Throughout the day, you also spent more time at each estate than originally planned. Our drivers do not interfere with guests’ experiences and remain on standby to ensure flexibility and comfort. We also noted that there were **no confirmed lunch arrangements**, aside from requests to potentially stop along the way. During our conversations, we raised concerns about the tight timing between your winery reservations given travel distances. You advised that timing flexibility would not be an issue due to your membership status at the wineries. Regarding safety concerns, our onboard cameras do not reflect any instance of the near-accident described. In fact, your group expressed appreciation at the end of the tour for the driver’s careful and professional driving, which is also supported by our recordings. Lastly, we feel that the request to waive the driver’s gratuity is not consistent with the level of service provided. Your driver made continued efforts throughout the day to accommodate changes and additional stop requests while ensuring a safe and smooth experience. We take all feedback seriously and continuously strive to improve. Thank you again for your input.

Sonoma and Napa 6hr-8hr- Private Wine Tour with Concierge Service: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Napa & Sonoma.
How much does Sonoma and Napa 6hr-8hr- Private Wine Tour with Concierge Service cost?
+
Prices start at $449 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Napa & Sonoma usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Sonoma and Napa 6hr-8hr- Private Wine Tour with Concierge Service take?
+
Plan for about 8.3 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Napa & Sonoma is not rushed.
Is Sonoma and Napa 6hr-8hr- Private Wine Tour with Concierge Service worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 84 out of 100, which we label "Exceptional". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 144 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Napa & Sonoma, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Sonoma and Napa 6hr-8hr- Private Wine Tour with Concierge Service?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Sonoma and Napa 6hr-8hr- Private Wine Tour with Concierge Service suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 8.3-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Sonoma and Napa 6hr-8hr- Private Wine Tour with Concierge Service?
+
Around 50 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Napa & Sonoma can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Napa & Sonoma and add a light layer if any part of the 8.3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Sonoma and Napa 6hr-8hr- Private Wine Tour with Concierge Service start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Napa & Sonoma within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Napa & Sonoma?
+
Napa and Sonoma are all about how a tour is put together: which wineries it can actually book, how many stops, whether lunch and tasting fees are included, and whether it lifts off in a balloon at sunrise. We weight inclusions and transparency heavily in the ranking here. On Outty we rank every Napa & Sonoma experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Napa Valley Small Group Winery Tour, #1 Sonoma Walking Food, Wine Tasting & History Tour (Public Tour), Sonoma Valley Pedal Assist Bike Tour with Lunch. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Napa & Sonoma?
+
March to May and September to November, with harvest crush in September. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Napa & Sonoma?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
