About this experience

The main reason that snorkelers travel the world to get to Tulamben is the USAT Liberty Shipwreck, lying just 40 meters from the beach and one of the few shipwrecks that can actually be seen while snorkeling. A combination of torpedoes and a volcanic eruption have caused this great ship to sit in shallow waters. The top sits in just 5 meters and the rest drops away to around 30 meters meaning all levels of diver can experience parts of this wreck, which is festooned with healthy corals, sea fans and great barrel sponges With an easy shore entry, calm conditions and good visibility, the Tulamben Shipwreck is en excellent snorkeling place.

Great fish

It worked fine being picked up at the hotel, driven to the office, where the papers had to be completed before departure. Missed an orientation on how the day would proceed and what we could expect. No information was properly provided. Confusion upon arrival at the restaurant where we had to order food for afternoon. Lots of tourists. The water looked great. Completely turquoise and clear. But on the beach and on the waterfront there was simply so much waste. It was a sad sight. A small fishing boat sailed us around the bay for about 5 minutes, where we were handed out a suit and a life vest. It looked pretty worn out. The guide was in the water and filmed along the way. It was not always easy to see him, as there were many other tourists in the water and quite large waves. It was beautiful underwater. Like stepping your head into an aquarium. Great with lots of colorful fish and a little coral. On the boat we were almost completely sick of the snorkeling trip and we were offered something to drink and some snacks, but the small fishing boat moved so much that we became even worse. We then sailed to the Blue Lagoon, where we also had to snorkel, but there were even more tourists and we were too poor. On our way back we saw a sea turtle. A highlight

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for taking the time to share your detailed feedback with us. We appreciate your honesty and would like to address the points you mentioned. We're happy to hear that the hotel pick-up and initial process went smoothly. However, we apologize if you felt there was a lack of orientation regarding the day's schedule and expectations. We'll make sure to improve our communication to avoid any confusion in the future. Regarding the crowds and the amount of tourists, it's true that during high season, there are many guests visiting the area, which can sometimes affect the overall experience. We always strive to offer the best possible service despite the busy environment. The boat you were on is a traditional Bali fishing boat, which is commonly used for these kinds of trips. While it may look simple or a bit worn, it's a cultural part of the experience. However, we will look into the condition of the equipment and make any necessary improvements to ensure your comfort and safety. We completely understand your disappointment about the trash on the beach and in the water. Unfortunately, waste is sometimes carried by the tides, especially after storms, and this is an issue we're working hard to address with local authorities and organizations. It's great to hear that you found the underwater experience beautiful and enjoyed the sight of colorful fish and coral. We’re sorry to hear that the boat ride left you feeling seasick, but we're glad the turtle sighting at the end of the trip was a highlight for you. Thank you again for your feedback, and we hope to have the opportunity to provide you with an even better experience in the future. Best regards, Blue Season Bali

Good day trip

This is a well organized and enjoyable trip. We are thankful to David the diver master who took such good care of us, helping us with our fins, especially when entering and exiting the water. Everyone was helpful and friendly. Lunch was well organized and enjoyable. The location of the USS Liberty means that it is a long day's travel there and back but if you want to see this diving / snorkelling site, Blue Season has an excellent trip.

Response from the operator: We truly appreciate your kind review, Sue! 🙏 It means a lot to our team. Can't wait to dive with you again! 🌞 Best regards, Blue Season Bali

Snorkeling Trip Tulamben Bali: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Kuta.

How much does Snorkeling Trip Tulamben Bali cost?

+

Prices start at $850000 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Kuta usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Snorkeling Trip Tulamben Bali take?

+

Plan for about 24 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Kuta is not rushed.

Is Snorkeling Trip Tulamben Bali worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 56 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.8/5 across 4 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Kuta, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Snorkeling Trip Tulamben Bali?

+

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Snorkeling Trip Tulamben Bali suitable for kids and families?

+

The operator sets a minimum age of 4. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 24-hour running time when deciding.

How far in advance should I book Snorkeling Trip Tulamben Bali?

+

Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Kuta can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Kuta and add a light layer if any part of the 24-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Snorkeling Trip Tulamben Bali start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Kuta within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Kuta?

+

On Outty we rank every Kuta experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include East Bali Tour: Gate of Heaven, Water Palace, Sleeping Gajah, Ubud Day Tour: Sacred Monkey Forest, Tegenungan Waterfall, Rice Terrace, Bali 5 Days and 4 Nights Private Tour - Best and Famous Site. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Kuta?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Kuta?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
