Snorkel them Catalina and Casa de Campo. Only 45.minutes in Casa De Campo so didn't see much!

The transportation was good, but the time in Casa De Campo was only about forty five minutes, so you really don't see much. You get to check out ampatheater, run to the bathroom in a shop on your way dashing out of there. Snorkeling was about 45 minutes, not much to see fish-wise and the actual Island of Catalina was a little over 2 hours. You have the option to buy a Pina Colada in a fresh pineapple, for $10, or get massage for about 25. There is one little store ther...bring your negotiating skills!! The food was okay. Make sure you wear your swim suit first and then bring your change of clothes for once you're done with swimming again at Catalina Islas, so you can be comfortable when you do the quick walk around Casa de Campo. Nathan was our tour guide. He spoke multiple languages and was helpful and informative. You will transfer busses, so don't pack much if you can help it! I'd go again, but would just drive to Casa de Campo so i could truly see it!!

Response from the operator: Dear Guest, Thank you very much for your detailed feedback. We’re happy to hear that you enjoyed the transportation and found your guide helpful and informative — we will be sure to pass your kind words along to Nathan. We would like to kindly clarify an important point for future travelers. This excursion is primarily designed as a Snorkeling and Catalina Island experience with a cultural stop at Altos de Chavón. The main focus of the day is the time spent on Catalina Island and the snorkeling activity. The stop at Casa de Campo / Altos de Chavón is a short, scenic visit, not a full-access day pass to the resort. It is intended as a brief cultural highlight within a full-day itinerary, rather than a long stay. We understand that guests who wish to explore Casa de Campo in depth may prefer to visit it independently or through a dedicated experience focused specifically on that destination. We truly appreciate your feedback, as it helps set the right expectations for future guests, and we’re glad to know you would consider joining the tour again. Kind regards, Somos Viaje Team

Snorkeling at Catalina Island & Altos de Chavón Full Day Tour: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for La Romana.

How much does Snorkeling at Catalina Island & Altos de Chavón Full Day Tour cost?

+

Prices start at $79 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in La Romana usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Snorkeling at Catalina Island & Altos de Chavón Full Day Tour take?

+

Plan for about 8 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in La Romana is not rushed.

Is Snorkeling at Catalina Island & Altos de Chavón Full Day Tour worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 59 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.5/5 across 2 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in La Romana, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Snorkeling at Catalina Island & Altos de Chavón Full Day Tour?

+

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Snorkeling at Catalina Island & Altos de Chavón Full Day Tour suitable for kids and families?

+

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 8-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Snorkeling at Catalina Island & Altos de Chavón Full Day Tour?

+

Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in La Romana can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in La Romana and add a light layer if any part of the 8-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Snorkeling at Catalina Island & Altos de Chavón Full Day Tour start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central La Romana within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in La Romana?

+

On Outty we rank every La Romana experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Small Group: Saona Island Full Day Tour, Saona Island small group and relax - luxury catamaran, #1 Punta Cana Hip Hop Adults Only Party Boat with Open Bar & DJ. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit La Romana?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in La Romana?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
