Snaefellsnes is beautiful

It is a long day from Reykjavik, but it was a good day. A lot of driving. We saw several waterfalls, including one that wasn't listed. The guide seemed knowledgeable. It was a pretty thorough view of the peninsula, especially for an excursion tour.

Tour delivered what was promised

Trip delivered on what the website promised. We saw a lot packed into the day. Was good to go somewhere not completely packed with tourists.

Hard Pass On This Tour-Save Your Money

After being told to be at the bus stop at a certain time, they messaged us moving it to an earlier time. No biggie. Then they said they were running behind. No problem. They picked us up after about two hours of waiting at the bus stop. We got on and had to pick up more people. After picking them up the bus driver pulled the rear bumper and lights off by hitting a cement barricade. So that put us behind further. We were told we would stop places to site see. The first place was a beach with seals. As we’re driving by, the female tour guide said she had been there before and essentially we “weren't missing anything by skipping it.” That they were already behind. We stopped at two gas stations on the way to the eclipse and were rushed to go to the bathroom and not buy any snacks. We weren’t told anything about anything. Literally. She did tell us when a Tesla Cop car drove by though…? We got to stop somewhere for maybe 20 minutes. I don’t even know where we were. There were cliffs and seagulls and like three restaurants. Which we didn’t have time to see much of before having to go back to the bus. She didn’t know how many people she was looking after. She asked us if everyone was on the bus…? We don’t know? We got to the eclipse destination. Only to sit in the bus even longer while the guide and driver were figuring out what to do and where to park. For like an hour. We got zero knowledge on the eclipse or location. We were “waiting for the manager” to tell us more. She didn’t know where he was. So we got off the bus and stood around and waited for instructions . She didn’t know any information. One of the few things she mentioned was we would have six bathrooms available to use. So we walked off to explore. The first place we stopped in to use the bathroom was only for customers. The second place we tried, the employees were understandably annoyed with the amount of people coming into their store to use the bathroom. We told them she had told us they were available and the employee said she shouldn’t have told us that. After the eclipse we stopped at another place with no information or directions. Luckily our friends saw online that there was a waterfall there so we went and saw that. Otherwise we wouldn’t have seen it. Our “picnic” was a muffin and a candy bar. A fellow passenger was concerned about getting back because the buses had stopped the guide’s reply was “good thing we have scooters” and that’s it. He left. We didn’t get back to our bus stop until well after midnight. Another passenger asked for the tour guide’s name and she seemed very reluctant to give her name. It began with an M from what I could hear. To say we were beyond exhausted and annoyed is an understatement. Total waste of money.

A full day enjoying and exploring the Snæfellsnes Peninsula

What a terrific excursion! Our guide, Simon was a wealth of knowledge about the beautiful peninsula. He provided fun and informative excursion for our cruise group of 15 people as we learned about the history of the area and about what it is like to live there now. Simon's stories and narratives kept everyone engaged thought the day. We didn't know what to expect with so many different stops and this tour with Simon did not disappoint. Highly recommend this tour especially if you have Simon as a tour guide.
