Great day in Pompeii and Sorrento!

Maria was wonderful. Great with our college age kids, very knowledgeable and a pleasure pt be around. Our driver was also very accommodating and helped make the day very enjoyable.

A day in Positano, Sorrento, and Pompei

We were met by our driver Pari at the cruise terminal and then drove to Positano for an hour-long visit there. Next was an hour in Sorrento. After that we drove to Pompei for a delicious lunch (not included in fee) after which Pari turned us over to Lelo for an absolutely amazing tour of the ruins. He was one of the best guides we've ever had. Overall a really wonderful day, just know that it's going to involve a lot of driving, much of which is on winding coastal roads that can induce carsickness. Prepare for that if you are sensitive.

NOTE - this is only a driver

Imagine booking someone to drive you all around the Amalfi coast and they only stop 2 times! The driver wasn't friendly, didn't answer hardly any questions, didn't try to make us feel welcomed, and made our dream day at Almalfi rather dull. The same went for Pompeii tour. I just assumed when you guy a "tour" it means you would actually get a tour guide. Disappointing.

Response from the operator: Dear Jennifer, Thank you for sharing your feedback. However, after a thorough check of our records, we cannot find any reservation under your name. Our Amalfi Coast tours specifically include a private driver, a professional archaeologist for the Pompeii tour, and all necessary entrance tickets. If you did indeed book with us, we kindly ask you to contact us privately so we can look into exactly what happened. As mentioned, we have no record of a "Jennifer" in our archives for these services. Please reach out to us within a week to clarify this matter. If we do not hear from you, we will be forced to take formal steps to have this review removed, as it does not appear to reflect a genuine experience with our company and is causing undue damage to our reputation. Thank you for your understanding. Best regards, Maria

Our party of six had a wonderful day. The roads were windy and one of us became car sick. Our driver Marco was very kind and courteous, offering us alternatives. Our tour guide Italo was very knowledgeable. And we can't speak highly enough of Marco who saved our day and recommended a wonderful winery to see on our way back to the ship. Well done to all!

    Positano, Sorrento and Pompeii!

Marco was such a good and attentive driver. It was so relaxing having him take us around the bay. And Clelia, our guide in Pompeii, was AMAZING! So knowledgeable and funny! It was the highlight of our trip!

Skip-the-line Pompeii and Amalfi Coast Shore Excursion from Salerno Cruise Port: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Pompeii.

How much does Skip-the-line Pompeii and Amalfi Coast Shore Excursion from Salerno Cruise Port cost?

    +

Prices start at $567 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Pompeii usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Skip-the-line Pompeii and Amalfi Coast Shore Excursion from Salerno Cruise Port take?

    +

Plan for about 8 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Pompeii is not rushed.

Is Skip-the-line Pompeii and Amalfi Coast Shore Excursion from Salerno Cruise Port worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 63 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 16 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Pompeii, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Skip-the-line Pompeii and Amalfi Coast Shore Excursion from Salerno Cruise Port?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Skip-the-line Pompeii and Amalfi Coast Shore Excursion from Salerno Cruise Port suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 8-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Skip-the-line Pompeii and Amalfi Coast Shore Excursion from Salerno Cruise Port?

    +

Around 6 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Pompeii can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Pompeii and add a light layer if any part of the 8-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Skip-the-line Pompeii and Amalfi Coast Shore Excursion from Salerno Cruise Port start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Pompeii within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Pompeii?

    +

On Outty we rank every Pompeii experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Premium Minivan Trip from Rome: Pompeii Tour & Lunch in Sorrento, Skip the Line Guided Tour of Pompeii Led by an Archaeologist, Explore Pompeii with an Archaeologist. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Pompeii?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Pompeii?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
