    Try another tour company

Our host was nice and knowledgeable but this tour was an unmitigated disaster. After entering the Duomo our guide was unable to keep the group together. After a truncated rooftop visit we were informed that we could not take the elevators down to the main area of the Duomo. The only solution was the stairs, which was not an option for all of the guests. Once all guests were convinced we need to take stairs in order to make the Duomo before closing we (unsurprisingly) got split up. By the time we reached the street the group was fractured the guide ran ahead pushing us forward. Without and easy way to discern who she was I ran after her to inform her that we understood the need to press forward but that she was leaving 40% of the group behind lost. There was a scramble to recover some people but in the end about 60% of us made it in the church with the rest left outside to their own devices. When the tour finally resumed it was essentially over with little content and much chaos to ingest. Was disappointed in the lack of organization (it was not a holiday, surely the timing of doors and elevators had to have been known in advance) and the callous nature in which our guide looked after some of our less able bodied guests. The history we received in the calm was helpful but would suggest another company perhaps. The original guide was sick that day and we had a back up but hard to imagine the quality gap is that wide.

    excellent tour

I was so glad I did this tour. The tour host was so lovely, informative and well organised. Her knowledge of the Last Supper and the other hosts knowledge of the surrounding buildings was fantastic. Worth every cent.

    Unexpected beauty

This tour was so informative and picturesque. I never imagined the exterior of the Duomo to be so beautiful and architectural. The layers (literally) of detail and history grab your interest from the start. Our guide was so knowledgeable. The whole thing was fascinating. The interIor so remarkable. This is one of the best church tours I’ve been on. A must do if you’re in Milan.

    A must do in Milan!

My husband and I very much enjoyed our tour. It was a small group, only 3 of us, and the tour guide was very knowledgeable. We chose this option because we wanted a tour around 90 minutes that would be in a small setting. It's worth the extra money and you absolutely want to do rooftop access.

Good tour but poor tour guide and poor communication

We arrived at 8:45am for a 9am start and nobody had turned up by 9:05am, I rang the tour company and they said that they were planning to contact me, but hadn't, The start time had been changed to 9:30am but they had not informed us. The tour guide arrived at 9:35am with a poor attitude. She showed no enthusiasm, no initiative, had no personality and basically didn't want to be there. The tour guide had no interest in the people on the tour, no introduction and had no personal skills. The tour itself of the Duomo was great seeing the inside and the rooftop of such a great building, The tour guide was terrible.

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Milan.

How much does Skip the Line: Express Milan Duomo and Rooftop Private Tour cost?

    +

Prices start at $342 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Milan usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Skip the Line: Express Milan Duomo and Rooftop Private Tour take?

    +

Plan for about 2 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Milan is not rushed.

Is Skip the Line: Express Milan Duomo and Rooftop Private Tour worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 44 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.6/5 across 19 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable culture & history in Milan, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Skip the Line: Express Milan Duomo and Rooftop Private Tour?

    +

No. This experience is sold on a non-refundable basis, so only book a date you are confident about. Similar experiences in the city do offer free cancellation if flexibility matters more than price.

Is Skip the Line: Express Milan Duomo and Rooftop Private Tour suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 2-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Skip the Line: Express Milan Duomo and Rooftop Private Tour?

    +

Around 7 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Milan can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Milan and add a light layer if any part of the 2-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Skip the Line: Express Milan Duomo and Rooftop Private Tour start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Milan within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Milan?

    +

On Outty we rank every Milan experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Gnocchi, Pasta, Tiramisù and Wine Class, Authentic Pasta & Tiramisu Cooking Class in Milan, Milan's Hidden Gems: Unique Bike Tour (ENG, NL). The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Milan?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Milan?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
