A must when in Lisbon
I booked a private tour with Gilberto to explore Sintra and the stunning coastline near Lisbon, and it was truly one of the best tour experiences I’ve ever had. From start to finish, everything was perfect. The ride was comfortable and stylish in a spotless Mercedes, the company was fantastic, and Gilberto’s knowledge of the area’s history and culture added so much depth to the day. His passion, professionalism, and warm personality made it feel like I was traveling with a friend who just happened to be a local expert. If you’re looking for an unforgettable and personalized tour, Gilberto is the one to book!

Fantastic Tour & Guide for a visit to Magical Sintra. Just Book it!
Anyone thinking of booking this tour should definitely do it. Gilberto is a fantastic guide he is kind, thoughtful and ensures you make the most of every minute. As a resident of Lisbon all his life he has a wealth of information and us full of interesting facts on the history and culture of the area. Our experience was amazing! We first visited Quinta da Regaleira which was stunning and like something from a fairytale. Next we visited Monserrate Palace with its beautiful gardens and stunning interiors and then onwards to Pena Palace which was beautiful. We finished the day with a browse around the beautiful historic town of Sintra followed by a drive back to Lisbon via Cascais and the coast. I honestly cannot fault a single thing, Gilberto took care of the purchase of our tickets. He was patient, friendly and knowledgeable. It was so comfortable being driven in his Tesla. It's obviously very important to him that you enjoy the experience and that really shows. Thank you Gilberto for making our day so special. 🙏

Top day
Gilberto Ferreira gave us a very safe and comfortable drive in his beautiful Tesla. He gave very clear explanations and told interesting stories about the various places we visited around Cascais and the fascinating Sintra area. Gilberto planned out the day very well so that it flowed smoothly. He organised various tickets and thoughtfully provided a picnic lunch. With his expert knowledge of Portugal and excellent English, he was able to answer any question and engage in many interesting conversations during the day. We thank Gilberto for going “above and beyond” in providing a top quality tourist experience to us. If you want a trouble free private tour around Lisbon, we would not hesitate to recommend Gilberto Ferreira and his Special Interlude tourist business.

Perfect day in Sintra!
Gilberto was absolutely amazing! Prior to our arrival in Lisbon he contacted us and we discussed what we wanted to see while in Sintra and the surrounding area. On the day of the trip, he promptly met us at our hotel at the agreed time and we were on our way to Sintra. We started off with the Palace of Pena and Moorish Castle, where Gilberto accompanied us and provided background and history on what we were seeing. He wasn't walking in front of us and and reciting a fixed script, but actually paying attention to what you are stopping and looking at and providing some additional detail. After the first two stops, we had a quick break at the car and Gilberto provided water and light snacks if we desired. After that we visited Quinta da Regaleira (we did this one solo as there is nowhere to park and thus Gilberto had to stay with the car). We rounded out our visit in Sintra with a visit to the Palace of Monserrate. Definitely do not skip Monserrate as it was the best gardens and location in my opinion. We had another quick break for a light lunch (which was also provided by Gilberto) and then headed out to coast and with two quick stops and then back to Lisbon. Overall the trip was a complete delight and I would highly recommend Gilberto to anyone else looking to do Sintra without all the hassle of dealing with the buses and headaches associated. 10 out of 10

Why this scores 52
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Sintra Private Tour - Special Interlude: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Lisbon.
How much does Sintra Private Tour - Special Interlude cost?
+
Prices start at $290 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Lisbon usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Sintra Private Tour - Special Interlude take?
+
Plan for about 4 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Lisbon is not rushed.
Is Sintra Private Tour - Special Interlude worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 52 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.8/5 across 5 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Lisbon, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Sintra Private Tour - Special Interlude?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Sintra Private Tour - Special Interlude suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 4-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Sintra Private Tour - Special Interlude?
+
Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Lisbon can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Lisbon and add a light layer if any part of the 4-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Sintra Private Tour - Special Interlude start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Lisbon within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Lisbon?
+
On Outty we rank every Lisbon experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Lisbon City Center Tour - The Unmissable Lisbon, Sintra Private Trip from Lisbon Customizable Dreamlike Experience, True 4Hour Private Tuk Tuk Tour: Discover Lisbon with a Local!. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Lisbon?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Lisbon?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
