Fantastic way to experience Sintra and learn Portuguese history

We had a fantastic day out with Bruno visiting Sintra and Cape Roca. Not only was he very friendly and knowledgeable about Portugal and the areas we visited, but you felt more like you were on a tour with a family member rather than a hired guide. The tempo was nice, and we stayed long enough in each spot to both soak in the atmosphere and learn a lot about Portugal’s history. Highly recommended if you want to explore the areas and learn more about Portugal, Sintra, and the neighbouring areas.

Unforgettable and Wonderful Experience

Our tour guide, Bruno, gave us an unforgettable experience around beautiful Sintra. Bruno has such a passion for his hometown and it shows. There were so many details we would’ve missed traveling around and Bruno would make sure that we knew all the history and how everything among the architecture (and including the culture and food) tied together in every stop we visited. We all had a wonderful day visiting every stop. Bruno’s services went above and beyond and made sure we were comfortable and we all felt like we had VIP service with him. Definitely would give today at 12/10 rating. Had a lot of fun and would love to bring others back to experience the same day I had. Beautiful culture and wonderful people! Bruno introduced us all to a wonderful gem in the world along with all the sights we visited at Pena Palace, old town Sintra, Quinta da regaleira, and ending in cascáis. Amazing day and many many thanks to Bruno!

First Class with Bruno.

This was worth every penny. Bruno was fantastic. He is passionate about his country & heritage. He grew up in Sintra and now supports his young family sharing his vast knowledge of Portugal and the sites. We will be sharing his contact with anyone we know that is coming to visit Portugal. First Class all the way.

The Beauty and History of Sintra

Bruno was an excellent guide with a deep knowledge of Sintra. His recommendations were well thought out. He was also very accommodating, especially with my elderly parents.

Great private day trip to Sintra and Cascais

We recently booked a private tour to Sintra and Cascais and had a really nice day overall. We were a group of five, including a toddler and two grandparents, so having it as a private tour made things much easier in terms of pacing and flexibility. The itinerary was well thought out, with a few shorter stops like Cabo da Roca that helped break up the day. Sintra and Cascais were both beautiful, and it was a great way to get out of Lisbon for the day. It’s a full day, but it didn’t feel rushed. Our guide, Bruno was knowledgeable and easygoing. He shared interesting information without turning it into a long lecture, and he was patient with all our questions. Traveling with both a little one and older family members can be a bit unpredictable, but he was accommodating and kept things running smoothly. All in all, it was a very enjoyable experience and a convenient way to see a lot in one day without having to plan everything ourselves.

Sintra, Pena Palace & Regaleira Private Tour from Lisbon: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Sintra.

How much does Sintra, Pena Palace & Regaleira Private Tour from Lisbon cost?

+

Prices start at $125 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Sintra usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Sintra, Pena Palace & Regaleira Private Tour from Lisbon take?

+

Plan for about 8 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Sintra is not rushed.

Is Sintra, Pena Palace & Regaleira Private Tour from Lisbon worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 69 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 10 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable most popular in Sintra, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Sintra, Pena Palace & Regaleira Private Tour from Lisbon?

+

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Sintra, Pena Palace & Regaleira Private Tour from Lisbon suitable for kids and families?

+

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 8-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Sintra, Pena Palace & Regaleira Private Tour from Lisbon?

+

Around 4 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Sintra can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Sintra and add a light layer if any part of the 8-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Sintra, Pena Palace & Regaleira Private Tour from Lisbon start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Sintra within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Sintra?

+

On Outty we rank every Sintra experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Private Tour Sintra from Lisbon Palaces of Pena and Regaleira, Private Sintra Tour Palaces and Coast by Vintage Car or Jeep, Sintra Historical Jeep Adventure - Palaces & Secret Routes. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Sintra?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Sintra?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
