8. Almocageme

   A colorful little town, close to the ocean, whose name has an Arabic origin, possibly meaning “the mosque,” although there are no testimonies of one having been around. 9. Praia Grande

   With a suggestive name, this is a large sandy beach where regularly surf and bodyboard competitions are hosted. Here you can find one of the biggest saltwater pools in Europe, with over 100 meters in length. In the southern part, dinosaur fossils can be found on the beach's cliff, with an easily identifiable sequence of eleven dinosaur footsteps. 10. Praia das Macas
