You will also visit the town itself and get the chance to taste Portugal’s culinary traditions by trying out the local pastries specific to Sintra. After the morning section of the tour, you will head for a country drive along the coastline to Cabo da Roca, Europe's westernmost point, stopping by for lunch either in Cascais or Estoril. This tour is conducted by a licensed local guide whose mission is to inform travelers what they need to know to enhance their stay in Lisbon, and to promote Portugal's culture and heritage. Muito Prazer!
My husband and I were visiting Portugal for the first time. It was our belated honeymoon. We could not ask for a better guide than Rui and our driver David. Rui was very knowledgeable and answered all of our questions. David made sure we got everywhere we needed to be safely and on time. Sintra and Cascáis are lovely towns to visit that are quite close to Lisbon. Rui also gave us a walking tour of Lisbon on another day that really brought the city to a whole new life. My only regret is that we didn’t get to spend more time with them exploring more. I have and will continue to recommend my Lisbon tours to all our friends and family. Next time we are in the area we will be sure to take some of the other historical and artistic tours with them!
Response from the operator: Dear Victoria, I would like to thank you for sharing your feedback regarding our Sintra and Cascais Tour. I am happy that you and your husband enjoyed your time with me and David, and that you can recommend us to all your friends and family. Warmest Regards, Rui Fernandes

Best Tour Ever!
My wife and I had a blast with Rui and our driver David. Felt like a great day out with friends, rather than a guide and the people he’s giving a tour to. Rui and David made it feel like a genuine human experience, not at all transactional. Rui gave history, background, and/or context to every place we went and everything we saw. In addition to the usual tourist places, Rui showed us a few spots that only the locals go to and that made all the difference. Next time we are in Lisbon, definitely going to contact Rui for another excellent tour. Thank you again!
Response from the operator: Dear Esteban, I would like to thank you for sharing your feedback with the rest of the TripAdvisor community. I am thrilled that you enjoyed the day trip to Sintra and Cascais and I will send your regards to David our get away driver. Warmest Regards, Rui Fernandes

Sintra & Cascais Tour
Rui was an excellent, friendly and informative Tour Guide with a vast knowledge on the history of Sintra. This is a very popular and busy Tour and Rui made sure we were there early enough that we were ahead of the long queue. A huge advantage! We then had a relaxed and fun trip to The Lighthouse on the most western point and on to Cascais with delicious seafood lunch to cap it all. Would totally recommend My Lisbon Tours for anyone visiting Lisbon and the surrounds of Portugal.
Response from the operator: Dear Anne, I would like to thank you for sharing your feedback regarding our Sintra and Cascais Premium Tour. The whole team is pleased that you enjoyed the experience and the seafood we had on our lunch break. Warmest Regards, Rui Fernandes

Best tour - Sintra and Cascais
My family visited Portugal for the first time in May and the highlight of our time in Lisbon was our tour to Sintra and Cascais with Rui. We had been on a half day walking tour of the Graça/Alfama area with Rui when we first arrived in Lisbon and were so impressed with his knowledge and charming manner that we decided to book the Sintra tour with him on our return from Porto. Rui met us at our apartment accompanied by the perfect gentleman and driver, Victor. The car was extremely comfortable and we felt like VIP’s with all the courtesies afforded to us. Rui is a walking ‘Google’ with a vast knowledge of everything you need to know about Portugal, historically and otherwise. After arriving in Sintra, he took us to a wonderful coffee shop so we could sample the delicious pastries and cappuccinos, then proceeded to Sintra Palace which was spectacular, but what really made it special was having such a knowledgeable, warm and considerate guide. There were several other groups of people with other guides but when I compared what these guides were sharing with their groups to Rui, there was no comparison. After leaving Sintra we visited the most Westerly point in Europe, Cabo Da Roca, which was rugged and beautiful, before heading off to Cascais, where Rui took us to the best restaurant we’d been to in Portugal. The grilled seafood, wine and service was superb and the ambience exceptional with a million dollar view of the beach and turquoise water. Rui then guided us on a walking tour of Cascais which didn’t disappoint. By this time we felt that Rui was part of our family. He is an amazing guide and an absolutely wonderful person. We arrived back at the apartment after a wonderful experience and gave our landlord Rui’s information to share with others who may want the best Lisbon experience. I highly recommend this tour and will not hesitate to book other tours with this company when we return to Lisbon. Thank you Rui, you are very special.
Response from the operator: Dear Debbie, I would like to personally thank you for taking the time to write such a complete and thorough review of the Sintra and Cascais Tour. I truly appreciate all your support and hope to host you again in the future. Warmest Regards to you and all your family, Rui Fernandes

Why this scores 68
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Sintra and Cascais Premium Tour: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Lisbon.
How much does Sintra and Cascais Premium Tour cost?
+
Prices start at $79 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Lisbon usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Sintra and Cascais Premium Tour take?
+
Plan for about 8 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Lisbon is not rushed.
Is Sintra and Cascais Premium Tour worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 68 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 5 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable most popular in Lisbon, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Sintra and Cascais Premium Tour?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Sintra and Cascais Premium Tour suitable for kids and families?
+
The operator sets a minimum age of 18. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 8-hour running time when deciding.
How far in advance should I book Sintra and Cascais Premium Tour?
+
Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Lisbon can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Lisbon and add a light layer if any part of the 8-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Sintra and Cascais Premium Tour start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Lisbon within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Lisbon?
+
On Outty we rank every Lisbon experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Lisbon City Center Tour - The Unmissable Lisbon, Sintra Private Trip from Lisbon Customizable Dreamlike Experience, True 4Hour Private Tuk Tuk Tour: Discover Lisbon with a Local!. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Lisbon?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Lisbon?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
