    Great half day tour

Tin Tin was a great tour guide. He was very informative and we had a great time visiting several places by tuk tuk. I would highly recommend!

A nice visit but a scam at the store

The tour of Silk Island by tuk-tuk is beautiful and original. On site, they explain the entire process of making silk fabric to us. It's interesting. However, at the end of the visit, at the store, we were offered a $25 scarf that we all bought. Later, in Siem Reap, we found the same scarves, priced at $6. Silk island is a real scam, the same product is sold 4 times more expensive. Take the tour which is interesting but don't buy anything.

Response from the operator: Dear Randonneux, Hello! You did not take our services and we do not take any responsibility for this case. Please help to delete this review. Best regards,

    Thoroughly recommended

If you would like to see rural scenes in Cambodia near Phnom Penh, this half-day tour is thoroughtly recommended. I spent really good quality time. As other reviewers wrote you can see silk weavers, markets, temples, vegetable fields etc in the island. I bought a beautiful silk stole there from one of them at a low price. Especially I was so impressed when the guide Visal told me how Khmer language was taught a century ago in this country and show the statue of Chuon Nath put up in the elementary school, who wrote the Khmer dictionary.

An excellent tour with a very knowledgeable guide Visal

We were picked up from our hotel and travelled to Silk Island on tuk tuk. At the Silk Centre on the island, local resident showed how the silk material is made, from the moth laying the eggs to the finished products. As travelling on tuk tuk we were able to see the island’s nice spots and stopped at various places. Our tour guide Visal was great, knowledgeable and friendly. He was informative with a wonderful sense of humour and gave us an enjoyable tour. We highly recommend this tour for the excursion to the Silk Island.

Small visit to a traditional factory

Nice little visit outside Phnom Penh. We visit a traditional silk factory in a small village on an island near Phnom Penh. We are explained all the steps of the manufacturing of silk garments from silkworm cultivation to making with the loom. I had a great time whether it was with the guide who spoke French on site or with the guide and driver who picked me up. I highly recommend

Silk Island Tuk Tuk Tour: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Phnom Penh.

How much does Silk Island Tuk Tuk Tour cost?

    +

Prices start at $80 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Phnom Penh usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Silk Island Tuk Tuk Tour take?

    +

Plan for about 4 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Phnom Penh is not rushed.

Is Silk Island Tuk Tuk Tour worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 59 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.7/5 across 9 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Phnom Penh, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Silk Island Tuk Tuk Tour?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Silk Island Tuk Tuk Tour suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 4-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Silk Island Tuk Tuk Tour?

    +

Around 3 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Phnom Penh can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Phnom Penh and add a light layer if any part of the 4-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Silk Island Tuk Tuk Tour start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Phnom Penh within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Phnom Penh?

    +

On Outty we rank every Phnom Penh experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Half Day Tuol Sleng S21 and Choeung Ek Killing Field Tour, The Killing Field and Toul Sleng Genocide Museum (S21) Tour, Killing field and Toul Sleng genocide museum Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Phnom Penh?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Phnom Penh?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
