As we journey across the Ponte 25 de Abril, the bridge's suspension cables seem to guide our path towards the monument, its silhouette growing larger with each passing moment. The vista from the bridge offers a breathtaking panorama of Lisbon's skyline, with the statue standing tall against the backdrop of the city's terracotta rooftops and shimmering waters. Arriving at the base of Cristo Rei, we're immediately struck by the sheer magnitude of the structure. Standing at a staggering height of over 100 meters, the statue's outstretched arms seem to embrace the entire city below, symbolizing protection and peace. We now have the option of just enjoying the sweeping panoramic views of Lisbon and the Tagus River stretching out before us from the base or going inside and go even higher (requires entrance ticket: 8€).

2. Castelo de Palmela

   Arriving in Azeitão we will have the option to visit the traditional Fábrica de Azulejos de Azeitão (Tile Factory). Stepping into this historic establishment is akin to entering a portal to Portugal's artistic soul. With origins tracing back centuries, the factory exudes an aura of timeless craftsmanship and creativity. We are greeted by a kaleidoscope of vibrant tiles adorning the walls, each telling a story of tradition and innovation. From the rhythmic clink of pottery wheels to the fragrant scent of freshly glazed tiles, every corner of the factory resonates with the passion and dedication of its craftsmen. 4. Also in Azeitão the other option we have for visiting is the Casa-Museu José Maria da Fonseca, a captivating blend of history and viticulture. Established in 1834, the winery stands as a testament to generations of passion and expertise in crafting exceptional wines. Wander through the vineyards that stretch as far as the eye can see, their sun-kissed grapes promising a bounty of flavors yet to be discovered. Delve into the cool depths of the cellars, where oak barrels cradle treasures aged to perfection as the renowned Moscatel wine. There is the option to sample the estate's renowned wines, from crisp whites to velvety reds, however beyond its wine offerings, the Casa-Museu José Maria da Fonseca invites visitors to explore its historic estate, where opulent tasting rooms and tranquil gardens offer moments of serenity and reflection. As we wander through its historic center, the scent of saltwater mingles with the aroma of freshly grilled seafood; the town comes alive with the vibrant energy of its local markets, where fishermen hawk their daily catch and artisans peddle handmade wares In here you will have the opportunity to sample the local cuisine while you enjoy breathtaking ocean vistas from the stunning bay where golden sands meet cerulean waters, inviting you to relax and rejuvenate. This famous bay beckons with opportunities for snorkeling, diving, and exploring nearby marine reserves, however Sesimbra's allure extends beyond its beaches; delve into its past at the imposing Sesimbra Castle, perched high above the town, offering panoramic views of the coastline (free entrance).
