Good food and views
Buffet food was ready upon boarding. The food was a good selection of salads, cheese + sides (good if you have wine), bread, roast vegetables, chicken, fish, baked cheesy potato, lasagna. Then dessert of tiramisu and fruit. Drinks prices were reasonable. The boat was calm to ride in and crew very friendly. The views of the harbour bridge and Opera House make great photos, the views can't be beat. For the price this was a good, better than we expected.

Bad experience after good
I went to this same cruise + buffet for the second time after I had a great experience. It was a terrible downgrade from the start. - Tripadvisor failed to send me any updates about changes to the meeting location, leading my group to search for the correct wharf and arrive late. - Food amount had almost halved, and there weren't any refills unlike my last visit - Food quality had gone down noticeably. - Despite this, the price of ticket remained the same. Since this is my second time, I can't be sure whether my first visit was a fluke or if the second visit was the outlier, but would be hesitant to try again after this experience.

Great Time & Great Memories!!
Amazing !. Great views & great people... Giada was working that day & helped make our trip exceptional with her excellent service & knowledge!. Boat clean & spacious. All on time & sooooo enjoyable. Met my son who landed from LA & used the boat trip to orient him w Sydney. Just great!. Accidentally left an expensive/special water bottle on board & able to recover nxt day thanks to John the sparky who helped us find it on the boat. Great time & great memories on this trip!!

Wonderful food, service and sights!
We've done a number of lunch and dinner cruises over the years, and you never really know what you are going to get, especially with a buffet. I am thrilled to add another 5* review for the Majistic lunch cruise in Sydney. The boat loaded on time without incident, and we were assigned a nice window table. The buffet was open as we arrived, to we were able to fill our plates as people were still boarding. Rather than wait for table service to take our drink order, my husband went to the bar and came back with a bottle of wine in an ice bucket and two glasses while his food was still warm. The food was quite good and had a large variety of hot and cold foods. There were four salads from a blue cheese, apple and chicory salad, vermicelli shrimp salad, cabbage slaw and a carrot raisin salad. There was a charcuterie section with fruit, cheese and meats, and seven hot entrees; fried rice, roasted vegetables, cauliflower gratin, poached white fish, beef lasagne, butter chicken and Mexican roasted chicken. My favorites were the perfectly cooked white fish and the cauliflower gratin. After we ate we spent the remainder of time on the front deck sipping on our wine. Towards the end they served some tiramisu and a bowl of pineapple. Overall, we had a wonderful time and would definitely recommend this tour!

Norfolk Island and Tasmania 2026
We were visiting Sydney from New Zealand for 3 days on our way to Norfolk Island and Tasmania and had a couple of friends travelled down from down from New Castle to visit us. I booked the lunch cruise for the four of us to enjoy a meal, see the harbour and have a catch up. We were welcomed aboard by the crew and shown our table. The food was ready so we helped ourselves to the very large range of lovely food from beautiful salads to hot food. It was all well presented and tasted amazing. There was a full bar service but no coffee or tea. There was soft drinks though. We had a good amount of commentary as we sailed out of Darling Harbour in a very comfortable large powered catamaran. Under the harbour bridge past Circular Quay, the Opera House, Mrs MacQuarries chair, Garden Island and the majestic houses lining the shore. Past Fort Denison and out the harbour a way then back along the other shore and past Lunar Park and back to the wharf. The cruise took 1.5 hours. The crew, especially Sofia made us welcome and looked after us very well. This is a must do in Sydney.

Why this scores 62
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Sightseeing Buffet Lunch Cruise on Sydney Harbour: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Sydney.
How much does Sightseeing Buffet Lunch Cruise on Sydney Harbour cost?
+
Prices start at $80 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Sydney usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Sightseeing Buffet Lunch Cruise on Sydney Harbour take?
+
Plan for about 2 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Sydney is not rushed.
Is Sightseeing Buffet Lunch Cruise on Sydney Harbour worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 62 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.7/5 across 11 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Sydney, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Sightseeing Buffet Lunch Cruise on Sydney Harbour?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Sightseeing Buffet Lunch Cruise on Sydney Harbour suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 2-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Sightseeing Buffet Lunch Cruise on Sydney Harbour?
+
Around 4 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Sydney can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Sydney and add a light layer if any part of the 2-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Sightseeing Buffet Lunch Cruise on Sydney Harbour start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Sydney within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Sydney?
+
On Outty we rank every Sydney experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include WILD Wombat and Kangaroo Day Tour, All Inclusive, Depart Syd: Blue Mountains Best All Inclusive with Local Guide, Blue Mountain Small Group Tour All Inclusive. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Sydney?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Sydney?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
