    Once in a lifetime experience

Oscar was an incredible guide on a simply magical tour of the lagoon at sunset. His knowledge and expertise made for a wonderful evening filled with experiences in nature from crocodiles to osprey. I can’t recommend highly enough. Everyone must do this tour once in their life!

    Epic Sian Ka’an Sunset Cruise

What a great experience! We saw many different birds including Osprey, Heron, Pelican, Spoonbill, along with Crocodiles and lastly, Manatees, which we were hoping we get to experience and they did not disappoint! Our guide Manu was on time, a very careful driver, and was super knowledgeable about all the birds and wildlife. The Captain of the boat was extremely friendly and did a great job of getting us in position to see everything. The sunset was amazing! Highly recommend this trip. It’s pricy but worth every penny and then some.

Response from the operator: Thank you for your valuable review Peter, looking forward to go fishing next time.

Peaceful and beautiful with a knowledgeable team!

This sunset cruise was a truly beautiful experience! Our guide was Danny and our Captain was George. These two knew all of the best spots to see manatees, crocodiles and every species of bird in the Yucatan! The vibe was peaceful. After running around Tulum, the peace and quiet of the lagoon was exactly what we needed! The colour of the water, the gentle waves, the breeze, the wildlife…was all perfect. Nothing was rushed. Of course watching the birds arrive on their island at sunset was magic! I would highly recommend this tour and this dream team!

More than a private sunset cruisr

I’m not big on trips. This was recommended by the Nest concierge team. It was reassuringly expensive’ but worth every penny. Danny was our guide and Jorge the boat captain. Danny picked us up from the hotel and took us into Sian Ka’an where we got our boat - just us, don’t let the words sunset cruise fool you. This is so much more. Miles and miles of unspoiled lagoon - with manatees and crocodiles aplenty- but even if you saw none it would still be worth doing. We were out 4 hours which sped by. We stopped on a private beach where the lagoon meets the sea and enjoyed home made guacamole. Back in the boat for the most stunning sunset and a rush to watch the birds flocking to an island for the night. The experience is better than words can describe. Heading back to dock in the dark and being the last people around was magical. Donut! It’s worth it!

A wonderful experience! We were essentially the only ones in the reserve, truly peaceful. Danny was an amazing guide. Would highly recommend if you are looking for a great experience in nature.

    +

That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 6 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Playa del Carmen, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

    +

Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Playa del Carmen and add a light layer if any part of the 5.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Playa del Carmen?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Playa del Carmen?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
