Sonoma County
To many people, Sonoma—just 45 miles from San Francisco—means wine. But when you drink in the surroundings on the eight-acre Sonoma Plaza—the state’s largest historic plaza, lined by restaurants, shops, and hotels—it’s hard to ignore the area’s non-vine history. During a lunch break, we’ll make a stop at Downtown Sonoma Square where you will enjoy leisure time to explore. Castello di Amorosa
Castello di Amorosa is the realization of an all-consuming passion. Fourth generation winemaker Dario Sattui built an authentically styled 14th century Tuscan castle winery to honor his Italian heritage and deep love for medieval architecture. But it all started with wine. Dario is the great grandson of pioneering vintner Vittorio Sattui, an Italian immigrant who founded St. Helena Wine Cellars in 1885. The Sattui family lived at the winery, even after Prohibition closed the business in 1920. Dario was always fascinated by the stories and photos of the old winery. As a child, he would play in the winery's underground cellars and dream of reviving the family business. Note-The entrance tickets of Castello di Amorosa is not included in this tour.

TOUR CANCELED LAST MINUTE
Didn't actually get to go on this excursion as it was canceled 12 hours beforehand due to insufficient reservations - I was given the option to pay double if I still wanted to go. I had booked this months in advance as a shore excursion, and could not find an alternative at that late hour.
Response from the operator: Due to the fear of pending government shutdown- there were many last minute cancellations and we had to have a minimum number of persons for the shared tour. We informed more than 24 hours in advance and provider full refund. Sorry for the inconvenience but we are customer obsessed and always like to take the tour . Additionally on cases like this we also offer private tours which we offered to you as well but was not accepted by you.

Awesome Private Tour, with a great trustworthy guide!
We had a private tour with Christian and we were extremely grateful that we received such a good guide and tour with Christian. We are lucky the company booked us last minute, very flexible staff. He was so knowledgeable about the San Francisco area and wine country as our tour’s purpose was wine tasting. We always felt safe and able to relax on the tour, we knew we were in good hands with our tour guide. We started at an awesome private vineyard and finished the day at a more common wine tasting venue, either way we were able to experience the best of both worlds! Christian made this happen as we told him our priority and trusted him with the planning of the enjoyable private tour. Please book your trip and ask for Christian, you will not be disappointed! Thank you Christian!
Response from the operator: Dear Traveller, Thank you for your kind review. We greatly appreciate your feedback and are pleased to know you had a positive experience. Your support means a lot to us, and we look forward to serving you again. Best regards, Monika (Manager PartnerPointLLC)

Why this scores 47
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Shore Excursion in SFO - Enchanted Napa & Sonoma Wine Tour in SUV: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for San Francisco.
How much does Shore Excursion in SFO - Enchanted Napa & Sonoma Wine Tour in SUV cost?
+
Prices start at $350 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in San Francisco usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Shore Excursion in SFO - Enchanted Napa & Sonoma Wine Tour in SUV take?
+
Plan for about 8 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in San Francisco is not rushed.
Is Shore Excursion in SFO - Enchanted Napa & Sonoma Wine Tour in SUV worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 47 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (3/5 across 2 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in San Francisco, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Shore Excursion in SFO - Enchanted Napa & Sonoma Wine Tour in SUV?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Shore Excursion in SFO - Enchanted Napa & Sonoma Wine Tour in SUV suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 8-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Shore Excursion in SFO - Enchanted Napa & Sonoma Wine Tour in SUV?
+
Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in San Francisco can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in San Francisco and add a light layer if any part of the 8-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Shore Excursion in SFO - Enchanted Napa & Sonoma Wine Tour in SUV start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central San Francisco within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in San Francisco?
+
San Francisco packs Alcatraz, Muir Woods, Napa and the bay into day-trip range, which makes booking order matter more than anywhere else in the US. Alcatraz sells out weeks ahead, wine-country vans fill on weekends, and the best food walks in the Mission and Chinatown cap at a dozen people. Our ranking favours small groups and guides who live in the neighbourhood they walk. On Outty we rank every San Francisco experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Small Group Yosemite and Giant Sequoias Day Trip from San Francisco, Golden Gate Bridge Muir Woods Sausalito with Optional Alcatraz, Chinatown, North Beach, Little Italy: 7 Tastings & History. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit San Francisco?
+
September and October, the city's real summer, once the fog season breaks. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in San Francisco?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
