An Unforgettable First-Time Shark Diving Experience
This was an incredible experience from start to finish! As first-time divers, we were definitely nervous, but the entire team made the process feel easy, safe, and enjoyable. We watched a safety video, received a thorough demonstration, practiced the skills, and then headed into the tank to see the sharks. The instructors were patient, encouraging, and made sure we felt comfortable every step of the way. A special thank you to Laurie, whose positive energy and reassuring pep talk completely calmed our nerves. She was incredibly kind, patient, and made us feel confident as beginners. Jason and Nicky were fantastic as well, and we truly couldn't have asked for a better team. The only downside was that we wished the photos and videos turned out better. Other than that, it was an unforgettable experience that I would absolutely recommend to anyone—even if you've never dived before. If you get Laurie, Jason, and Nicky as your instructors, you're in great hands!

Shark dive experience
We had such an amazing experience at the Sea Life Aquarium watching my son complete his shark dive. Every staff member was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and knowledgeable. They went out of their way to help us find the best viewing spot and made sure we didn't miss a moment of the experience. The team explained everything clearly, answered our questions, and made us feel so comfortable throughout the visit. Seeing how professional and passionate they were has even inspired me to want to give the shark dive a go myself! Thank you to everyone for making it such a memorable day. We highly recommend this experience to anyone looking for something truly special! Thank you Jason and Ayla!!

Once in a life time experience
I had the most incredible experience doing the Extreme Shark Dive at SEA LIFE Sydney Aquarium on 14/06/26 during the 11am session. From start to finish, the entire experience was unforgettable, and a huge part of that was thanks to the amazing instructors. Unfortunately, I can’t remember their names, but the instructors running the 11am session were absolutely outstanding. They were so kind, caring, patient, and professional, making everyone feel comfortable and confident before entering the water. Their passion for what they do was obvious, and they went above and beyond to ensure everyone felt safe while still having an exciting and memorable experience. Being surrounded by the sharks and marine life was incredible, but it was the instructors who truly made the day special. The knowledge these incredible individuals know really show that there is people in this world wanting to look after our environment and creatures. Thank you to the team for creating such an amazing memory that I’ll never forget. I would highly recommend the Extreme Shark Dive to anyone considering it—it’s a once-in-a-lifetime experience made even better by the wonderful staff.

Why this scores 62
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Shark Dive Xtreme at SEA LIFE Sydney Aquarium: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Sydney.
How much does Shark Dive Xtreme at SEA LIFE Sydney Aquarium cost?
+
Prices start at $299 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Sydney usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Shark Dive Xtreme at SEA LIFE Sydney Aquarium take?
+
Plan for about 2.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Sydney is not rushed.
Is Shark Dive Xtreme at SEA LIFE Sydney Aquarium worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 62 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 165 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable most popular in Sydney, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Shark Dive Xtreme at SEA LIFE Sydney Aquarium?
+
No. This experience is sold on a non-refundable basis, so only book a date you are confident about. Similar experiences in the city do offer free cancellation if flexibility matters more than price.
Is Shark Dive Xtreme at SEA LIFE Sydney Aquarium suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 2.5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Shark Dive Xtreme at SEA LIFE Sydney Aquarium?
+
Around 58 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Sydney can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Sydney and add a light layer if any part of the 2.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Shark Dive Xtreme at SEA LIFE Sydney Aquarium start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Sydney within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Sydney?
+
On Outty we rank every Sydney experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include WILD Wombat and Kangaroo Day Tour, All Inclusive, Depart Syd: Blue Mountains Best All Inclusive with Local Guide, Blue Mountain Small Group Tour All Inclusive. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Sydney?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Sydney?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
