Swaymbhunath
Swayambhunath Stupa is another Buddhist pilgrimage site of Nepal enlisted in the UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is accessible from two entrances. The first entrance is an inclined walk to the top and the other is around the hill which is an easy ride in a vehicle. As being a Buddhist pilgrimage site, it consists of many Hindu temples around the hilltop showing the harmony of both religions. On the way to the Stupa, you can see many shrines and vendors with similar collections of mementos along with monkeys roaming around freely. At the top, you will see a big stupa with prayer wheels around it and a large gold-plated thunderbolt right at the east entrance.

Amideva Buddha Park
After your Swayambhunath visit, you will come across a park called Amideva Buddha Park. There are big statues of Shakyamuni Buddha in the park with many other smaller religious and architectural components distributed in the park.

Kathmandu Durbar Square is one of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites of Nepal. In Kathmandu Durbar Square, you will see that many historical and architectural buildings and many of them are under construction. However, there are many explorable places around the area. You will see many statues of various deities like Kal Bhairav, Hanuman, and also a miniature model of Pashupatinath temple near the vicinity. Also, you can explore the Kumari Ghar where the living goddesses of Nepal are located.

Kumari Chowk
Go to the Kumari Chowk and visit the chowk with its three-level construction. It is the red-bricked courtyard where the living goddesses resides. Kumari is a Newari girl chosen to be the living god until she reaches puberty.

Patan Durbar Square
The Patan Durbar Square is the courtyard of the historic Malla palace at Lalitpur. It is a treasure chest of Newari architecture. The durbar square is layered with crimson bricks on the floor. The durbar square can be divided into three courtyards which are Sundari Chowk, Mul Chowk, and Keshav Narayan Chowk. Each of these Chowks has its distinctive features. Sundari Chowk has various statues and stoned architecture. Mul Chowk has many sculptures and statues; thus, it is guarded due to the danger of thievery. Keshav Narayan Chowk is the museum of Patan Durbar Square. You will see many things related to historic civilization.

Patan Royal Palace
Heading on to the main site, you will see the amazing stone architecture of Krishna temple. You can see 21 shrines in the temple with carvings related to Ramayana and Mahabharat. There is a large bell near the Krishna temple. Other than Krishna temple, you can see other architectural beauty like Shankar Narayan Temple with statues of kneeling elephants, large sculptures of animals like lions on each side of entrances gates in most of the places, Rudravarna Mahavihar, Mahaboudha, and Machhendranath Temple.

You will moreover visit the golden temple in the north. Hiranya Varna Mahavihar, also the golden temple, is a 12th-century pagoda-style temple. It has bronze statues and silver and gold decorations. You can see a giant prayer wheel and a golden photo of Lord Buddha.

The durbar square offers many enchanted sites as a 55-window palace, Nyatapola temple, statues of several kings, Dattatreya temple and many more. As you enter the city, the gates are ornamental with various carvings in them and be sure to try the local curd of Bhaktapur before leaving the city as it is famous all over the surrounding region.

Nyatapola Temple
Nyatapola Temple is a superbly sculptured pagoda-style five leveled roofed temple. It is one of the tallest pagodas and shows a beautiful instance of the high. It is over 30 meters tall architectural beauty accessible by a flight of steps reaching the top. You can see statues at the sides of these steps as you go along which is the signature of Hindu, Buddhist and Tantric architecture.

Changu Narayan Temple
The least visited of all the UNESCO World Heritage Sites is a gem waiting to be discovered by the outside world! This village is a truly incredible place. You will observe Newari craftsmen doing traditional carvings as they have done for hundreds of years. The temple is the oldest Hindu temple in the Valley, dating back nearly 900 years.

Pashupatinath Temple
Pashupatinath temple is the greatest temple complex in Nepal. It homes over 500 temples and shrines in the area. The complex covers 0.64 hectares of land and is an attraction point for many Hindu devotees. It is listed as one of the UNESCO World Heritage Site. Boudhanath Stupa
Boudhanath Stupa is one of the greatest mandalas of Nepal. It is 36 meters tall with over 50 gompas constructed around its vicinity. It is one of the main and most integral Buddhist pilgrimage destinations of Nepal for the spiritual and tourism purpose. As being enlisted in the World Heritage Site, the stupa is highly preserved with a serene environment and clean surroundings. As you enter the premises of the Boudhanath, you will see a large dome with prayer flags crisscrossing everywhere. The scent of incense sticks fills the atmosphere there with the prayer wheel surrounding the stupa. If you reach the stupa at the time of prayer, then you will be spiritually taken away with the chimes and prayer sounds. A day well spent on the history of Katmandu
Thank you to Shanti Karki for the tour. If you're tight for time the four sites in the city would be sufficient to get a feel for the history of the city but the seven take a full day. Shanti gave so much detail and information about the history, life and architecture at each site and seeing the funeral pyre at the end of day was unexpected and drew reflection. I'd recommend the day to you.

Pure Heritage Experience.
This tour really surprised me and opened my eyes to their culture and background of Hindu and buddhism. Guide is very respectful and knowledgeable, will take you to the most beautiful and interesting places of heritage in nepal. You will learn all about the different religions and traditions of culture shown amongst the people. Having a driver and the tour guide was amazing knowing the timings and secret areas to see the best spots. Exploring seven UNESCO sites in one day!
It was not easy to see seven beautiful UNESCO sites in one day. But my guide Ananta and driver Gagan were both great and up to the task. I was picked-up promptly at 7AM and we went through all the places as itemized in the tour’s full description. Despite it being a long day, Ananta and Gagan both kept their energy levels high. Ananta was very knowledgeable and you could see his passion in what he does. He truly loves his job meeting new people and telling them about these places with so much enthusiasm. Gagan was a very skillful driver and I felt very safe from pick-up till drop-off. I highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Nepal, especially those with limited time in Kathmandu as you get to see all seven UNESCO World Heritage Sites in only one day.

Great trip to the UNESCO World Heritage Sites
Shanti was a great guide. She’s very knowledgeable about the sites. Good thing! She asked whether I wanted to visit the cremation site, to which I politely refused. I had a wonderful time. However, it would have been better if the price was more affordable.
