Awesome zipline experience, a must do!!
I highly recommend this park, company, and doing the tarzan and superman experiences. I felt very safe. Staff are professional and friendly, lots of them! Equipment is in good condition. My husband and I are both 66 and we had no trouble walking to the first zip and up stairs on the few you need to climb to get to them. I think there were 16 total lines yet it went fast, they are very efficient. Had a blast and will do it again if we get back to Costa Rica!

Very well organised, extremely enjoyable - a great and unforgettable experience!
I’m not a great fan of heights and generally don’t feel safe when facing a challenge like this. However, did this with the kids and I have to say it was just fantastic. So well marshalled, and a great balance of fun and common sense from the instructors/guides. The scale of the 1km and 800m zips was eye-opening. Would thoroughly recommend to others!
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for taking the time to share this wonderful review! Overcoming a fear of heights to join your kids on the course is no small feat—huge congratulations on taking on those massive 1km and 800m lines! We are so glad to hear that our guides' balance of safety, common sense, and fun helped you feel confident and secure every step of the way. Knowing that you had a fantastic, unforgettable time with your family means the world to us. Thank you for your high recommendation, and we hope to welcome you all back to the cloud forest for another treetop adventure!

Fun time zip lining!
We took the 1pm canopy tour on an overcast, cloudy day in early August of 2026. The check in process and getting equipment was quick and efficient. We then got in a van and traveled up the mountain to our starting point. We had to walk about a 1/4 mile up a steep hill to get to the area where they should you how to use the zip line. We then went off to the first zip line and once we started we kept right on going. We then took another 1/4 mile hike up a hill to the 5th line. We then had to wait 15 minutes as we discovered that the 5 guides that helped us on the first zip lines, had to go in front of us to the next 3 zip lines. Once we finished these, we than had another 1/4 mile hike up a hill to get the 8th zip line. Same process and had to wait another 15 minutes for the guides to go back in front. We then did 4 more lines, then the Tarzan swing and finished with the last line. The last line was over a 1/2 mile long was mostly through the clouds. Overall, the zip lines were very fun and the guides were great. The negatives was the extensive hiking (we did not know about this in advance) and the two times that we had to wait. I think if they had people at all the stations, we could do the course quicker and they can probably make a lot more money. The full tour took about 2 hours and 15 minutes for the 13 lines. We then did the 2-mile hanging bridges hike on our own and that took about an hour and a half. We did not see much in the way of wildlife since we did not have a guide, but was nice not to see another person the entire time since it was late in the day. The scenery was amazing and the tranquility even better. We would recommend the bridges and zip lining if you are in the area.
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for taking the time to share such a detailed review of your recent visit! We are thrilled to hear that you had a very fun time on the canopy tour, enjoyed the thrilling half-mile flight through the clouds, and loved the peaceful scenery during your hanging bridges walk. We truly appreciate your honest feedback regarding the layout and flow of the zipline tour. The cloud forest terrain does require some steep walking between certain line sections, and our guides rotation system is designed to maintain high safety standards across the course. That being said, we completely understand how the unexpected hiking and waiting periods can disrupt the rhythm of your adventure. Your suggestion regarding stationing guides continuously along the course is valuable input, and we will certainly share it with our operations team as we evaluate ways to streamline the guest experience. It is wonderful to know that, overall, the breathtaking views and tranquility of the bridges made for a memorable trip to the treetops. Thank you again for visiting us, and we hope to welcome you back to the cloud forest in the future!

Wonderful— then and now!
My father, sister, and I visited Selvatura Adventure Park 16 years ago— and again on our trip to Monteverde last week. The zipline tour was a highlight both times. We appreciated the care and consideration given to us by our guides and the Selvatura staff. Our guides were friendly and engaging: very fun to chat with. Special shoutout to Kendall, William, Kiwi, and Jesus for making our time at Selvatura so special. Thank you!
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for sharing such a special story! It is truly an honor to welcome you, your father, and your sister back 16 years later and to know that our zipline tour remains a highlight of your time in Monteverde. We will gladly pass along your generous shoutout to Kendall, William, Kiwi, and Jesus. They will be thrilled to hear that their warm hospitality, fun energy, and professional care made your return trip so memorable. Thank you for your loyalty over the years, and we hope it won't be another 16 years before we see you all again for more adventure in the cloud forest!

Why this scores 80
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Selvatura Park Canopy Tour: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Monteverde.
How much does Selvatura Park Canopy Tour cost?
+
Prices start at $63 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Monteverde usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Selvatura Park Canopy Tour take?
+
Plan for about 2.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Monteverde is not rushed.
Is Selvatura Park Canopy Tour worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 80 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.7/5 across 501 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Monteverde, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Selvatura Park Canopy Tour?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Selvatura Park Canopy Tour suitable for kids and families?
+
The operator sets a minimum age of 4. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 2.5-hour running time when deciding.
How far in advance should I book Selvatura Park Canopy Tour?
+
Around 175 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Monteverde can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Monteverde and add a light layer if any part of the 2.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Selvatura Park Canopy Tour start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Monteverde within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Monteverde?
+
On Outty we rank every Monteverde experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include The Original Canopy Tour Monteverde, Zipline, Coffee, Chocolate & Sugar Cane Tour (Regular), Monteverde Cloud Forest Guided Nature Walk with Expert Naturalist. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Monteverde?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Monteverde?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
