    About this experience

Hydra is one of the most romantic destinations in Greece, built on a slope overlooking the Argosaronic gulf. Traditional stone mansions, narrow cobblestoned streets, secluded squares and above all the banning of cars and the use of around 500 donkeys as means of public transportation, explain the reason why Hydra preserved its distinctive atmosphere through the passage of time. You can walk along the waterfront, the heart of the town, you encounter monuments, churches, canons, museums, old mansions, statues of famous heroes, shops and cafes, while picturesque winding streets lead you to neighborhoods located at the upper part of the town.

    Great time in Greece!

The tour was excellent. The captain of the boat Leo was friendly and experience in managing the boat and preparing our snacks on the boat. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Hydra and Poros Island. Big thank you to the tour agent Private Tours Greece who has arranged the cruise and our land tour.

Response from the operator: We are very happy to hear that you had such a great experience on the cruise to Hydra and Poros. Thank you for your kind words about Captain Leo and his excellent service on board, as well as for your appreciation of our team’s arrangements. We truly hope to welcome you again in Greece soon!

Hydra was gorgeous! Our driver was excellent! Nice lunch! Not enough time. I assume the winter ferry schedule did not allow us to return to Piraeus later in the day.

What should I bring or wear?

The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Athens?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Athens?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
