Beautiful Cities, but Poor Communication and Misleading Tour Description

It wasn’t bad. There was just some confusion. The guide supposedly said that the meeting point was at 2:00 PM at the bus to go to Ávila, but several of us understood that she said it was at the cross near the aqueduct. We were left behind and had to call for them to come back and pick us up. They said we had misunderstood, but the paper they gave us when we checked in at the office had a photo and a QR code showing directions to the Cross. Another point: the tour was advertised as being in Spanish, but we were combined with the group that had booked the tour in English. The guide had to explain everything first in Spanish and then again in English, which took much more time. I would have preferred the description to clearly state that it was a bilingual Spanish-English tour so that customers would know what to expect in advance. The positive side: both cities were beautiful, the bus was in very good condition, and the lunch we ordered as part of the package was absolutely delicious. The guide was Michelle. No estuvo mal.

Reciban saludos cordiales

    Avila and Segovia amazing trip

A great day trip! The history and sightseeing in Avila and Segovia was incredible. Towns are quaint and fun. No time for shopping unfortunately. The lunch was yummy and so was the wine which was included in a family run establishment. You won’t regret the time

Easy way to sample the past

It was good tour to sample Segovia and Avila. The coach bus was very comfortable and our guide was extremely knowledgeable about each stop we visited. If you are looking for a relaxing tour to sample these beautiful cities, we recommend.

Response from the operator: Dear Jennifer, Thank you for your kind review. We hope to welcome you soon in another of tour tours. Kind regards

Happy with choice, zero complaints only praise.

Our guide Patricia was great, hardest working your guide on the ground. As a day trip from Madrid it was super efficient and pleasurable. This was the first tour we’ve done. This would be my recommendation: Skip the meal and tour of cathedral in Segovia- to have more time exploring the city. We enjoyed the experience of the meal, but it took all of our time. Do the walk along the city wall in Avila, I was traveling in low tourist time and could have just purchased entrance ticket separately at time of tour. We had no expectations and ended the day happy and satisfied with our choice. Patricia narrates in Spanish and in English- and she does a really good job of it.

Response from the operator: Dear customer, Thank you for your kind words. We really appreciate them. Of course, we also let Patricia know that you enjoyed the guided tour. Kind regards

Is Segovia and Avila Day trip from Madrid with Gourmet Lunch worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 64 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.3/5 across 80 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Madrid, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Segovia and Avila Day trip from Madrid with Gourmet Lunch?

Is Segovia and Avila Day trip from Madrid with Gourmet Lunch suitable for kids and families?

How far in advance should I book Segovia and Avila Day trip from Madrid with Gourmet Lunch?

    +

Around 28 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Madrid can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Madrid and add a light layer if any part of the 9-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

    +

What are the best things to do in Madrid?

    +

On Outty we rank every Madrid experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Madrid Essential: Historic Center, Plaza Mayor & Royal Palace, Madrid Walking Tour from Puerta del Sol to Retiro Park, Madrid Oscuro: Torture, Ghosts, Crimes and Legends. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Madrid?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Madrid?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
