Wonderful! Tour of Avila and Segovia. Truly a must if you're in the Madrid area.
Our Certified tour guide with many years of Experience really made this excursion a memorable wonderful experience. Xaranta is extremely knowledgeable about all of Spain but truly exceptional regarding all history of the two cities we visited from Visigoth's to Romans, Moors or Catholic Kings. She made the experience very warm and caring and treated our daughter so kindly. Very personable and caring. We started in Avila and then Segovia. We visited Roman aqueducts and 2 beautiful cathedrals. We love history and Xaranta didn't disappoint. We had Lunch in Segovia and my wife and daughter ate a typical Spanish meal and loved it. I did not have the same experience as on ordered tenderloin which I like medium rare and the chef thought that meant raw! I returned it twice and then gave up. The croquetas de Jamón were quite good though so it wasn't a total loss. That little blip should not take anything away from this most memorable trip. We highly recommend Xaranta as the guide if feasible!
Response from the operator: Dear traveler, Thank you for taking the time to share such a detailed review. We're delighted to hear that your private tour of Ávila and Segovia was such a memorable experience. It is wonderful to know that Arantxa's extensive knowledge of Spanish history, from the Visigoths and Romans to the Moorish period and the Catholic Monarchs, helped bring these fascinating cities to life. Even more rewarding is hearing that her warm and caring approach made your family feel so welcome, especially your daughter. We're also pleased that you enjoyed discovering the Roman aqueduct, the magnificent cathedrals, and the local gastronomy in Segovia. Thank you as well for sharing your feedback regarding the tenderloin. While we're sorry that this particular dish did not meet your expectations, we appreciate your understanding and are glad that it did not overshadow an otherwise exceptional day. Your recommendation means a great deal to us, and we will be sure to share your kind words with Arantxa. We hope to have the pleasure of welcoming you and your family on another unforgettable experience in Spain. Best regards, Fun and Tickets Team

Don’t miss Avila and especially Segovia
Frederick took us to Avila for a wonderful visit to this “walled” city. He was so nice! We had lunch at an excellent restaurant in Segovia and then Laura took us on a tour there. She lives in Segovia and was so knowledgeable about every site we visited. Be prepared for a lot of walking, stairs, and steep streets.
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for sharing your experience with your private tour to Ávila and Segovia. We’re delighted to hear that you enjoyed both cities and that Federico and Laura helped make the day so memorable for you. Ávila and Segovia each offer such a unique atmosphere and history, from the remarkable medieval walls of Ávila to the beautiful streets, monuments, and local character of Segovia. We’re especially happy to know that Laura’s connection to the city and deep knowledge added an even more authentic and enriching touch to your visit. It’s also wonderful to hear that you enjoyed the lunch experience in Segovia. Combining history, local culture, and gastronomy is one of the things that makes this excursion so special. We also appreciate you mentioning the walking and steep streets, as it can be very helpful for future travelers preparing to enjoy these historic cities comfortably. Thank you again for your kind recommendation and for choosing to discover Ávila and Segovia with us. Best regards, Fun and Tickets Team

Spain
Laura was an excellent guide. Frederico was too accommodating to people who were physically incapable of doing the tour. It should have been made clear that to them that they were holding up 45 others.
Response from the operator: Thank you for sharing your feedback about your experience in Segovia and Ávila. We’re pleased to hear that you enjoyed Laura’s guidance and appreciated her work during the tour. At the same time, we understand your frustration regarding the pace of the excursion. These historic cities involve considerable walking, uneven streets, and a fairly active itinerary, so balancing the needs and comfort of all travelers within a group can sometimes be challenging. We always want every guest to feel welcomed and supported during the experience, while also maintaining a comfortable rhythm for the group as a whole. Your comments are very valuable to us and help us continue improving how expectations and tour requirements are communicated before the excursion. Thank you again for taking the time to share your honest feedback and for choosing to travel with us. Best regards, Fun and Tickets Team

The Royal Vist
Arantxa was an amazing guide. She was very knowledgeable and Pablo, our driver, was great too! The drive went quickly, and we hand plenty of time to souvenir shop. To top it off the weather was perfect! This trip was the best!
Response from the operator: Dear Kim, This sounds like a perfect day out—thank you for sharing it! We’re so glad you enjoyed the experience and that everything came together so nicely, from the comfortable drive with Pablo to having enough time to explore and even do some shopping at your own pace. Arantxa will be especially happy to hear your kind words. Her passion and knowledge really do make each tour feel special. And having great weather on top of everything else… that’s always the cherry on top! Hope to see you again on another unforgettable day trip soon. Best regards, The Fun and Tickets Team

Segovia and Avila Private Tour with Lunch and Hotel Pick up from Madrid: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Madrid.
How much does Segovia and Avila Private Tour with Lunch and Hotel Pick up from Madrid cost?
+
Prices start at $1650 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Madrid usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Segovia and Avila Private Tour with Lunch and Hotel Pick up from Madrid take?
+
Plan for about 8 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Madrid is not rushed.
Is Segovia and Avila Private Tour with Lunch and Hotel Pick up from Madrid worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 62 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 40 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Madrid, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Segovia and Avila Private Tour with Lunch and Hotel Pick up from Madrid?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Segovia and Avila Private Tour with Lunch and Hotel Pick up from Madrid suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 8-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Segovia and Avila Private Tour with Lunch and Hotel Pick up from Madrid?
+
Around 14 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Madrid can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Madrid and add a light layer if any part of the 8-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Segovia and Avila Private Tour with Lunch and Hotel Pick up from Madrid start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Madrid within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Madrid?
+
On Outty we rank every Madrid experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Madrid Essential: Historic Center, Plaza Mayor & Royal Palace, Madrid Walking Tour from Puerta del Sol to Retiro Park, Madrid Oscuro: Torture, Ghosts, Crimes and Legends. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Madrid?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Madrid?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
