    Day trip to Grand Canyon

Matthew, besides being an excellent driver, was extremely knowledgeable of the geology of the surrounding area, as well as the Grand Canyon. Provided all snacks and beverages we could enjoy. A comfortable trip. Wonderful and thoughtful conversations along the way. Despite the smoky haze the tour did not disappoint!

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your kind words! We're thrilled to hear that you had a comfortable and enjoyable trip. We're glad you found the geology insights, conversations, and hospitality to be memorable. While the smoky haze may have softened the views, it’s wonderful to know that the tour still met your expectations. We hope to welcome you on another adventure in the future!

One of the best days of my life- Grand Canyon tour

Wow, I cannot say enough about what an amazing experience our Grand Canyon tour with Matt was! Matt picked us up right on time at our hotel in Sedona. His car was comfortable and immaculate. We were offered bottled water, snacks and coffee. We began on our 2 hour journey to The Grand Canyon. The entire way to the Canyon, Matt provided us with extensive history and detail of the surrounding mountains and the Grand Canyon. His breath of knowledge is incredibly impressive. I felt like I was getting the best history lesson of my life. Matt drove us to the best viewing points on the South Rim. He brought his spotting scope as well as binoculars so we could get the best views. He provided us with a delicious lunch and an equally impressive return trip to our hotel. He took a different route so he could teach us about the history of the Navajo Nation and the Cucina Mountain Range. If you're looking for a once in a lifetime experience, I highly recommend booking your tour with Sedona Philosophy. We will never forget our amazing day. Thank you Matt!!

Response from the operator: Thank you for your glowing review of your Grand Canyon tour with Matt. We're delighted that you found the experience so educational and enjoyable. We're honored that you consider this a "once in a lifetime experience" and thank you for recommending Sedona Philosophy. We hope to welcome you back for more adventures in the future!

A perfect day at the Grand Canyon

It would be difficult to imagine a better way to experience the Grand Canyon on a day tour than the one provided by Matt and Sedona Philosophy. From the moment he picked us up in a comfortable luxury vehicle stocked with everything you could want for the day until our drop off that evening, everything was perfect. The drives going and returning sped by due to Matt’s extensive knowledge that encompasses geology, history and general knowledge of the region. At the Grand Canton, the perfect day was enhanced by Matt’s preparedness which included a powerful telescope and binoculars for our use and his knowledge of the best viewing spots and trails. Every detail from lunch reservations to planned restroom stops was tended to. Can’t recommend enough!

Response from the operator: Thank you for your review of our Grand Canyon tour! We're so pleased that you had such a great time and a meaningful experience. It's wonderful to hear that you appreciated the comfortable ride, Matt's knowledge, and the extra touches. Thanks for choosing Sedona Philosophy, and we hope to see you again soon!

    Unforgettable!

Our hosts at El Portal in Sedona (another outstanding, one-of-a-kind experience in Sedona) recommended Sedona Philosophy for a tour of the Grand Canyon. On very short notice we were connected with Andrea, who seemed genuinely excited about taking us on this tour. She picked us up the next morning at El Portal, and we began our journey. We expected to be amazed by the beauty and grandeur of the destination, but what sets this tour apart from others is the JOURNEY. Andrea and Matt named this business “Sedona Philosophy” for a reason, and this becomes evident on the trip to the Grand Canyon and back. This was an unforgettable experience and if Trip Advisor had 6 stars, we’d give them 6 of 6. Thank you for an incredible day, Andrea!

Response from the operator: Thank you.

Sedona to Grand Canyon Private Tour: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Sedona.

How much does Sedona to Grand Canyon Private Tour cost?

    +

Prices start at $598 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Sedona usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Sedona to Grand Canyon Private Tour take?

    +

Plan for about 8 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Sedona is not rushed.

Is Sedona to Grand Canyon Private Tour worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 59 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 5 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Sedona, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Sedona to Grand Canyon Private Tour?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Sedona to Grand Canyon Private Tour suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 8-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Sedona to Grand Canyon Private Tour?

    +

Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Sedona can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Sedona and add a light layer if any part of the 8-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Sedona to Grand Canyon Private Tour start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Sedona within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Sedona?

    +

Sedona's activity market is dominated by off-road jeep tours, and the difference between operators comes down to which trails they are permitted to run. Beyond that: vortex and energy walks, hot air balloon lifts at dawn, stargazing sessions in one of the darkest skies in the country, and Grand Canyon day runs north. We rank on permit access and group size. On Outty we rank every Sedona experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Small-Group Grand Canyon Complete Tour from Sedona or Flagstaff, Sedona’s ONLY Guided ATV Tour: Western Red Rock Backcountry, Kayak Tour on the Verde River. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Sedona?

    +

March to May and September to November. Summer afternoons bring monsoon storms. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Sedona?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
