Unforgettable experience!

I'm still amazed!!!!! It was so cool and fun!!!!! Our instructor Gaelle was a sweetheart. We have the Open Dive Water course, even so she reminded us of everything that needs to be done and explained it to us perfectly. I suffer from ear problems and have a hard time equalizing underwater, and it was my first dive that didn't hurt at all!!!!! We were going down little by little at my own pace. I enjoyed diving like never before. We have seen "La playita" and "Atlantic Princess", both have been great, but the second one has been spectacular. I recommend it 100% and without a doubt, I will return to go to the Rock, and it will be with them. Thanks Go Dive Bayahibe and especially to Gaelle, for creating an incredible memory in our retina.

Great Start, Disappointing Instructor Attitude

We are writing this review to help other people make a better choice than we did. We decided to try this company for our first-ever scuba diving experience because it has many positive reviews. The booking process was easy and straightforward. When we arrived, we were welcomed by the owner couple. We stayed with the gentleman, while the lady took care of a French family. We completed the paperwork, received the initial briefing, boarded the boat, and headed to the dive site, where the instructor gave us a second, clear briefing. Up to this point, everything was excellent. Once we entered the water, however, there were quite large waves. This is where I also recognize our own mistake, and I would like to leave a recommendation for anyone considering their first dive: do your first scuba experience in a controlled environment, such as a swimming pool. Learning to breathe through scuba equipment for the very first time in rough sea conditions is not ideal. Now, regarding the instructor. Before entering the water, he was professional and explained everything clearly. However, once we were in the sea and he realized that my girlfriend was feeling very anxious and wanted to stop, his attitude changed completely. He became rude and impatient. Naturally, I was not going to let my girlfriend deal with the situation alone, so I stayed with her on the boat. Instead of helping us manage our fear and anxiety, the instructor's immediate concern was telling us that we would lose the money we had paid. He said this while I was still in the water and already feeling stressed. I already understood that there would be no refund—we never questioned that, and we never asked for our money back. A calmer and more empathetic approach would have made a huge difference, especially if he had explained everything once we were safely back on the boat. For the rest of the trip, we both felt that the instructor was clearly annoyed with us. We don't believe there was any reason for this. He had received full payment, no air had been used, and we never complained or requested a refund. Perhaps our experience would have been different if we had been with the female instructor instead. She was much friendlier, and she made an effort to ensure that we didn't feel embarrassed or uncomfortable. In conclusion, our advice is simple: if it's your first scuba diving experience, choose a company that offers the initial training in a swimming pool or another controlled environment. If you decide to use this company, we would recommend diving with the female instructor, as she seemed much more patient, understanding, and welcoming

Diving with Go Dive

I have been lucky enough to dive in many places around the world: the Maldives, Mauritius, Egypt, the Dominican Republic, Greece, the Canary Islands... I love diving, but since I don't have certifications, I usually do introductory dives. And yet, this introductory dive with Go Dive, shared with my son, was by far the most beautiful diving experience I have ever had. A huge thank you to Gaëlle and Julien, the managers, who are simply exceptional. Gaëlle stands out for her responsiveness, her kindness, and the passion she puts into her work. From the very first interactions, you feel at ease. As for Julien, his professionalism is remarkable. He has that rare ability to make us experience the dive as if we were experienced divers, while ensuring impeccable safety at every moment. Thanks to him, you fully enjoy the experience, without ever feeling any stress. This dive will undoubtedly remain the best memory of all those I have been able to do around the world. A piece of advice to all those staying in Bayahibe: do not hesitate to leave your hotel to experience your activities with local enthusiasts like Gaëlle and Julien. Not only are the rates often more advantageous, but above all the experience is much more authentic, warm, and human. That is where you discover the true richness of a destination.
