Island Ventures
We had a wonderful two days with Island Ventures. Our guide, Carrie and our Captain, Wolfman, were efficient with our time and equipment, helpful in explaining our dives and patient with us. We came down 6 months ago and dove with another outfit that took 20+ people out at a time and wanted a smaller outfit this time. Their equipment was in great shape and felt very comfortable with the crew. Island ventures was a the perfect charter for our family and would not hesitate at all recommending them and will book again with them next time we are in the Keys. Thanks for a great couple days!!
Response from the operator: Thanks for the great review and we glad that you had a great time!

Why use Island Ventures for your next Keys trip?
Repeat customers and will be again. Michael and his team are real professionals, knowledgeable of the dive sites and serious about safety. Their boats are large enough to spread out, but small enough to make the dives intimate. Rental gear is fresh and reliable and available down to kid sizes (XS). Their tanks all had good O'rings (evidence of good maintenance). Island Ventures has a good website that you can book and pay for your trip. Michael and his wife are also good at responding to email. While their shop is very small, their services for training (PADI) are where I'd recommend you go. And the reasons are based on experience with this and other outfitters. First, Island Ventures is with PADI so it's easy to do coarse work on line and or pool work up north then finish your open water dives in the warm waters of Largo. Second, their boat trips are not crowded so student to instructor ratio and quality of the interaction is much better for the student than at most other Key Largo shops. Think about it, going on a boat with 4 to 8 divers or a boat with 26+ plus divers. Third, Michael's shop is at Jules Undersea lagoon. When you need to work on basic skills, just jump in the lagoon. When the ocean isn't conducive to a boat trip, just jump in the lagoon. When you're a little nervous about your first salt water experience, just walk down the steps into the lagoon. When you're doing advanced course work and skills like navigation or recovery or rescue or what ever doesn't really have to be off a boat, walk down into the lagoon. No noise, no motors, no waves in your face, just you and your instructor talking it through and trying it over. Yes, we'll go back to Island Ventures next trip to the Keys.
Response from the operator: Thanks for the great review, we really appreciate the time taken to leave reviews!

+

That score blends traveler sentiment (4.7/5 across 3 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable most popular in Key Largo, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule SCUBA Dive Key Largo Reef (min 6 divers)?
+

Is SCUBA Dive Key Largo Reef (min 6 divers) suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 3.5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book SCUBA Dive Key Largo Reef (min 6 divers)?
+
Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Key Largo can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Key Largo and add a light layer if any part of the 3.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does SCUBA Dive Key Largo Reef (min 6 divers) start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Key Largo within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Key Largo?
+
Key Largo is the dive and snorkel capital of the Keys: John Pennekamp reef trips, Christ of the Abyss snorkels, glass-bottom boats, sunset sails and backcountry eco tours. On Outty we rank every Key Largo experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Key Largo Two Reef Snorkel Tour - All Snorkel Equipment Included!, Half Day Snorkel Trip on Reefs in the Florida Keys, Mangrove Tunnel Kayak Adventure in Key Largo. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Key Largo?
+
December to May for clear water and calm seas. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Key Largo?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
