Stunning Scenery, Great Guide, and a Memorable Experience

Our Monument Valley scenic tour was one of the highlights of our trip. The scenery is absolutely breathtaking—pictures simply don't capture how incredible it is in person. Getting to explore areas that are only accessible with a guided tour made the experience well worth it. Our guide, Amory, was friendly, kind, flexible, and genuinely wanted everyone to have a great experience. Being a local to the area, he shared valuable insight into the history, culture, and traditions of Monument Valley. While there were times we found ourselves prompting him with questions rather than receiving continuous narration, he was always knowledgeable and happy to answer whatever we asked. He was also fantastic at taking photos and happily used everyone's phones to capture some amazing memories throughout the tour. We did have a couple of minor setbacks, but they were handled well and never negatively impacted our experience. We booked through a third-party company, and the meeting location instructions weren't very clear, which caused some initial confusion. By the time we arrived, the weather was beginning to look questionable with rain and lightning moving in. Our original vehicle was open on the sides, but Amory quickly recognized that it wouldn't be the most comfortable option if the weather turned. He went out of his way to switch us into an enclosed vehicle, which delayed our departure by about 30 minutes. We appreciated that he prioritized our comfort and safety, and he even extended the tour so we didn't lose any time because of the delay. At no point did the tour feel rushed. There were a few stops where we may have spent a little longer than necessary, but I imagine that depends on each group's interests and how many questions people have. Throughout the tour, Amory checked in to make sure everyone was comfortable, kept us supplied with cold bottled water, and made sure we were enjoying the experience. Overall, this was an unforgettable tour, and I would absolutely recommend it to anyone visiting Monument Valley. The scenery alone is worth the trip, but having a guide who was accommodating, knowledgeable, and focused on making sure everyone had a great experience made it even more memorable.

    Book with them!!

The group before us arrived late so our tour afterwards started later than scheduled- NO PROBLEM! Sabrina communicated with us and we enjoyed time touring the visitor center. Our guide was Larry- he stopped and let us have time to grab some fry bread! Larry was quick to answer our questions and did not mind me asking about his family’s heritage. I am SO happy we chose them!!

Scenic Express tours 1.5 hrs: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Monument Valley.

How much does Scenic Express tours 1.5 hrs cost?

    +

Prices start at $75 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Monument Valley usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Scenic Express tours 1.5 hrs take?

    +

Plan for about 1.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Monument Valley is not rushed.

Is Scenic Express tours 1.5 hrs worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 59 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.7/5 across 32 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Monument Valley, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Scenic Express tours 1.5 hrs?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Scenic Express tours 1.5 hrs suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 1.5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Scenic Express tours 1.5 hrs?

    +

Around 11 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Monument Valley can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Monument Valley and add a light layer if any part of the 1.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Scenic Express tours 1.5 hrs start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Monument Valley within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Monument Valley?

    +

Monument Valley is only fully accessible with Navajo guides: backcountry 4x4 tours into restricted areas, sunrise and sunset photo runs, horseback rides and cultural storytelling. On Outty we rank every Monument Valley experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include 3 Hour Monument Valley Tour, 2.5 Hours of Monument Valley's Backcountry 4×4 Tour, Monument Valley Group Tour - 3 Hours - Navajo Spirit Tours. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Monument Valley?

    +

April to May and September to October for mild temperatures. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Monument Valley?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
