Safari to Merzouga

We had a wonderful trip to the Sahara desert with lots of beautiful lookout stops along the way. Our driver Laarbi was really helpful and informative. He was a great driver and we really enjoyed the entire experience. I would recommend to bring some extra small change for tips for the guides along the way as it is expected for some. Also be mindful that you may not receive much communication prior to leaving on the experience so don’t stress or expect to receive a detailed itinerary. Overall it was great fun and an amazing experience.

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your wonderful and detailed feedback! We’re delighted that you enjoyed the Sahara experience and that Laarbi made the journey comfortable, informative, and enjoyable. We truly appreciate your recommendation and your helpful advice for future travelers!

Merzouga Sahara 3 Day Trip

Wonderful experience. Our driver/guide, Houcine was fun, outgoing and helpful. First Day we headed down to Ben Haddou. Hot but worth the hike up there First Day Hotel was above our expectations at Tinghir. Food was good. Room was clean. Second day we headed out to Todhra Gorges. And a trip down to the Berber village. It was a nice and knowledgeable visit. And then we finally headed down to the Sahara Desert. Camel riding was smooth. The luxury hotels at the camp was also above put expectations. It had its private bathroom and the room was clean. Houcine even stopped over in between the rides to show us fossils.

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your wonderful and detailed review! We’re delighted to hear that you had such a great experience on your 3-day Merzouga Sahara adventure. We’re especially happy that Houcine made the journey fun, comfortable, and memorable, and that you enjoyed the stops at Aït Ben Haddou, Todra Gorges, the Berber village, and the fossil discoveries. It’s fantastic to know that both accommodations and the luxury desert camp exceeded your expectations. We truly appreciate your kind words and hope to welcome you back to Morocco for another unforgettable adventure!

Good time at the desert

We had a really nice time in the desert, it was very impressive! We have seen and experienced a great deal in the Sahara and in the Atlas Mountains. This tour will be remembered me for a long time! The guides and our driver Eddih Hicham were very friendly and courteous with jokes.

Round trip 3 days with desert camel ride

We loved the tour. Especially the destinations Ait Ben Haddou and the desert safari with the camels were really top. The sunset and starry skies in the desert camp were a highlight. I can only recommend our tour operator Marrakech Travel, as everything had been perfectly organized. Our bus driver Aziz was terrifically good. He was always calm and forward-looking. 5 stars for Aziz the bus driver. We would do the trip again with the same organizer.

Sand, Stars & Camels: 3-Day Marrakech to Merzouga Desert Safari: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Marrakech.

How much does Sand, Stars & Camels: 3-Day Marrakech to Merzouga Desert Safari cost?

+

Prices start at $70 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Marrakech usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Sand, Stars & Camels: 3-Day Marrakech to Merzouga Desert Safari take?

+

Plan for about 72 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Marrakech is not rushed.

Is Sand, Stars & Camels: 3-Day Marrakech to Merzouga Desert Safari worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 69 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 8 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Marrakech, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Sand, Stars & Camels: 3-Day Marrakech to Merzouga Desert Safari?

+

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Sand, Stars & Camels: 3-Day Marrakech to Merzouga Desert Safari suitable for kids and families?

+

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 72-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Sand, Stars & Camels: 3-Day Marrakech to Merzouga Desert Safari?

+

Around 3 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Marrakech can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Marrakech and add a light layer if any part of the 72-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Sand, Stars & Camels: 3-Day Marrakech to Merzouga Desert Safari start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Marrakech within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Marrakech?

+

On Outty we rank every Marrakech experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Agafay Desert Quad Bike Camel Ride and Dinner Show, 3 Days Desert Tour From Marrakech To Merzouga Dunes & Camel Trek, Best Marrakech to Fes Sahara Desert Tour with Camp & Camel Trek. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Marrakech?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Marrakech?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
