Great tour for someone who wants to see the mountains on horseback

I did the 5hr tour with Rachid as our guide and Kenzo as my horse 🐴 . Traversing on horseback through the Atlas mountains from rocky cliff sides to deep forests to lush meadows was truly an amazing experience. The horses are very well trained and cared for and I was amazed at their ability to navigate the landscape so well. Most of the ride was walking due to the rocky mountainous terrain but we did also get several opportunities trot and canter on the flat surfaces. If you are an experienced rider I highly recommend this tour.

Response from the operator: So happy you enjoyed the ride with Rachid and your time with Kenzo 🐴. The Atlas Mountains can be quite wild and diverse, so it’s great to hear you got to experience all those different landscapes along the way. We put a lot of care into our horses, so your comment honestly means a lot to us. And yes, the terrain makes it more of a relaxed ride in many parts, but we always make sure to add some nice moments to trot or canter when it’s safe and suitable. It was lovely having you with us, you’re always welcome back anytime

Perfect, totally recommended

Absolutely fantastic experience riding in a beautiful area. The horses were very friendly and clearly well looked after. The guide was very knowledgeable and despite us both having very different riding experience, he tailored our ride to suit us both. The transfer arrangements were perfect with excellent communication with our driver through WhatsApp .... We were so impressed, we booked to do it again a few days later ! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your wonderful review! We are truly happy to hear that you had such a fantastic experience and enjoyed riding in the beautiful Atlas Mountains. It means a lot to us that you appreciated our horses and the care we give them. We’re also very glad that our guide was able to adapt the ride to both of your experience levels so you could fully enjoy the adventure. Thank you as well for mentioning the transfer and communication with our driver. It was a real pleasure to welcome you, and we were delighted to see you come back again a few days later! You are always welcome whenever you return to Marrakech.

Great Riding Experience

Booked the 2.5 hour riding adventure for 4 friends and myself whilst staying in Marrakech. What an experience! All 5 of us have horses, although some more advanced than others. We were picked up near to our Riad and taken to the centre by our lovely driver. When we got there, the horses were in good condition and we were paired with our horses and given a wee "test" in the arena. I was put forward as the more advanced rider of the group - so had a lovely, yet very spritely arab called Kenzo. These were not novice horses, with mine having a good few bucks / jogging / going sideways when he wanted to go, the other horses were also keen to snatch the reins at times. They obviously know the trails and anticipated the canters etc. The terrain was quite unexpected - and thankfully we are used to hill ground however some of the inclines and declines were not for the faint hearted. Our guide was lovely and informative and gave the horses a wee rest every now and then. The info did say the rides are tailored to rider experience so i assume more novice riders would be taken on an easier route. My hands were blistered with holding my horse back so would recommend taking gloves! Once we were back, we untacked and went with our driver to an argan oil cooperative, were given a small breakfast and seen how the oil is processed. Overall, we all had a fantastic day. It was a brilliant way to see the Moroccan countryside and the views were fabulous.

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your wonderful review and for choosing our 2.5-hour riding adventure during your stay in Marrakech. It truly means a lot to us that you and your friends had such a fantastic day exploring the Moroccan countryside. We’re very happy to hear that the experience matched your riding level and that you enjoyed the energy and character of the horses, as well as the beautiful scenery along the way. Your recommendation about bringing gloves is also very helpful for future riders — thank you for mentioning it. It was our pleasure to host such an experienced group, and we’re glad you appreciated the visit to the argan oil cooperative as part of the day. You are all welcome back anytime we would be delighted to ride with you again on your next visit to Morocco.

Outstanding

Would absolute recommend this activity! The experience itself was outstanding, the transfer and pickup was prompt, safe and clearly communicated. I am beginner level, my partner is not. We went for a hack on a varied trail with excellent views to the Atlas Mountains. This was absolutely a 5star experience and once we are so pleased to have done. Thank you!

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your kind recommendation. We’re delighted to hear that you found the experience outstanding and that the transfer and pickup were prompt and safe. Providing a smooth, well-organized service from start to finish is very important to us, so your feedback truly means a lot. We hope to welcome you again for another adventure in Marrakech in the future

Lovely horses, and beautiful views!

We left the city at 9am, and headed to a women's cooperative around 40 mins away. Once we arrived the driver made it clear that we were under no obligation to purchase anything. Inside, we were given a Berber breakfast which consisted of homemade bread with traditional dips and tea. The stables were only a short drive from the cooperative. Once we arrived it was clear the horses were well looked after, and we were fitted with helmets and protective gear for our backs. My husband had ridden horses before, but I hadn't so they gave me a more gentle horse. The groom was very patient and attentive, and continued to check that I was feeling comfortable throughout the 1hr trek; he also offered to take pictures and videos on our phones multiple times which was greatly appreciated. The terrain was quite rough in parts, but the horses were happy walking everywhere and the scenery was beautiful! Both the groom and driver were very friendly, and had good English skills which made the whole process easier and stress free. We arrived back to the city just after 12:30. Would thoroughly recommend this trip for a morning out if you're looking for something a little different to do.

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your kind review. We’re delighted you enjoyed the cooperative visit, the breakfast, and your horseback experience in the Atlas Mountains. It’s great to hear you felt comfortable and well looked after — especially as a first-time rider. Your lovely comments about our team truly mean a lot. We hope to welcome you again on your next visit to Marrakech.

Scenic Horseback Riding Adventure Through the Atlas Mountain: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Marrakech.

How much does Scenic Horseback Riding Adventure Through the Atlas Mountain cost?

+

Prices start at $65 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Marrakech usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Scenic Horseback Riding Adventure Through the Atlas Mountain take?

+

Plan for about 5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Marrakech is not rushed.

Is Scenic Horseback Riding Adventure Through the Atlas Mountain worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 60 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.8/5 across 18 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Marrakech, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Scenic Horseback Riding Adventure Through the Atlas Mountain?

+

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Scenic Horseback Riding Adventure Through the Atlas Mountain suitable for kids and families?

+

The operator sets a minimum age of 13. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 5-hour running time when deciding.

How far in advance should I book Scenic Horseback Riding Adventure Through the Atlas Mountain?

+

Around 6 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Marrakech can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Marrakech and add a light layer if any part of the 5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Scenic Horseback Riding Adventure Through the Atlas Mountain start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Marrakech within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Marrakech?

+

On Outty we rank every Marrakech experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Agafay Desert Quad Bike Camel Ride and Dinner Show, 3 Days Desert Tour From Marrakech To Merzouga Dunes & Camel Trek, Best Marrakech to Fes Sahara Desert Tour with Camp & Camel Trek. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Marrakech?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Marrakech?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
