A day in San José del Pacífico

San José del Pacifico is a little town in the Oaxaca mountains full of little surprises. We enjoyed very good food and coffee at the Morenita Restaurant and stayed at Camino al Cielo cottage. The cottage was big and functional. I wish they had coffee and coffee filters for the coffee maker machine, but other than that it was a good place. You can move around with taxis, they are cute and little. We did not go to the temazcal (we were cold and just spent a night there before our road trip from Oaxaca to Huatulco), or tried the mushrooms. We went to a place on the road, 1 minute walking from the morenita restaurant and enjoyed the swing on top of the mountain and hanging bridges for 100 pesos.

Response from the operator: Hello! Thank you for sharing your experience in San José del Pacifico! We’re thrilled to hear that you enjoyed the local cuisine at Morenita Restaurant and found your stay at Camino al Cielo cottage comfortable. Your feedback about the coffee and coffee filters is appreciated; we’ll make sure to pass that along. It sounds like you had a lovely time exploring the area, especially the swings and hanging bridges with such stunning views! We hope you enjoyed the rest of your road trip from Oaxaca to Huatulco and look forward to welcoming you back for more adventures in the future! Safe travels!

Busses to San jose Del Pacifico

The town is tranquil & amazing, but all bus rides are terrible! I have tried all the busses. Its better to take a taxi, because the bus drivers whip the many twist & turns so fast, that many people vomit & the buses & you smell it for 4 hours. The driver ignores you with any request. They laugh about how many people get sick. No impressed. Choose another travel option.

Response from the operator: Hello! We are really sorry that your experience in San Jose del Pacifico, although we would like to clarify that you did not take the tour with our Company, If you had taken the tour with us, your experience would have been different. You have a nice day!

Magic experience!!

It is a different and super recommended experience; being in connection with nature is extraordinary; very well prepared guides; the temazcal is magical and relaxing. Excellent tour!!

Response from the operator: Gracias amiga por dejarnos tu comentario, conectarnos con la naturaleza es una de las mejores experiencias que encontramos en mi estado de Oaxaca, el temazcal sin duda es algo mágico que no da relajación y tranquilidad. Le manda un saludo su amigo Lamby!

San José del Pacifico: between clouds & Mountains: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Huatulco.

How much does San José del Pacifico: between clouds & Mountains cost?

+

Prices start at $120 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Huatulco usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does San José del Pacifico: between clouds & Mountains take?

+

Plan for about 13 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Huatulco is not rushed.

Is San José del Pacifico: between clouds & Mountains worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 68 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.7/5 across 6 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Huatulco, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule San José del Pacifico: between clouds & Mountains?

+

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is San José del Pacifico: between clouds & Mountains suitable for kids and families?

+

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 13-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book San José del Pacifico: between clouds & Mountains?

+

Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Huatulco can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Huatulco and add a light layer if any part of the 13-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does San José del Pacifico: between clouds & Mountains start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Huatulco within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Huatulco?

+

On Outty we rank every Huatulco experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Tour to Copalitilla Magical Waterfalls from Huatulco with admission included, Huatulco Ocean Eco Adventures, Huatulco: Waterfalls, Zipline & Oaxacan Food. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Huatulco?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Huatulco?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
