About this experience
Once the tour is booked, you can come to our rental point to collect the bikes, so you can start with our virtual guide, which will accompany you step by step. The tour is a scenic loop starting from San Gimignano, along urban roads, white gravel roads, vineyards, olive groves, and with continuous views of its famous medieval towers. The route is 26 km with 500 m of elevation gain: it is smooth and non-technical, ideal by e-bike and suitable for everyone, as long as you have a minimum level of confidence on dirt roads and on a few short climbs. Along the itinerary there is a stop at Fattoria Poggio Alloro, with beautiful views over San Gimignano, perfect for a snack break or to end the tour with a wine tasting and cellar visit. A medieval village on the Via Francigena, San Gimignano is now a UNESCO site: of the more than 70 towers from the 14th century, 14 still remain today.

Tough Ride
There were some reviews that said this bike excursion was “so easy.“ It was not. The map app did not work well. It made our ride longer by turning around a lot. The trails/paths to ride bikes are either up or down, no flat roads. There are some paved roads but a lot of gravel rocky roads. On these bikes you have to constantly pedal to get the electric boost. If you don’t pedal, you stop. The ride is through traffic. I think it is long. Could be an hour shorter. The gentlemen at the shop were helpful but spoke little English so be ready with Google Translate. This e-bike tour is better for those who are younger and in good shape. It’s a tough ride for those who are older or those looking for a relaxing ride.
Response from the operator: We're sorry to hear that you experienced difficulties with the navigation. After reading your review, we checked the GPS track recorded during your ride. It appears that the guided navigation was not started, which likely explains the repeated wrong turns and the longer distance you experienced. We always recommend starting the guided navigation before setting off. Of course, if any issue arises during the tour, we're always available to assist our guests by phone. Regarding the e-bikes, they are pedal-assist models, which means the electric motor provides assistance only while pedaling. This is the standard system used by most e-bikes and allows riders to enjoy a more natural cycling experience. We're pleased to hear that our staff was helpful. We apologize for any language barriers and are always working to improve communication with our international guests. Thank you again for your honest feedback. Reviews like yours help us improve and also allow us to provide future guests with clear information so they can choose the experience that best suits their expectations and fitness level.

How long does San Gimignano: eBike Tour Virtual-Guided take?

Is San Gimignano: eBike Tour Virtual-Guided worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 55 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4/5 across 2 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in San Gimignano, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule San Gimignano: eBike Tour Virtual-Guided?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is San Gimignano: eBike Tour Virtual-Guided suitable for kids and families?
+
The operator sets a minimum age of 10. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 2-hour running time when deciding.
How far in advance should I book San Gimignano: eBike Tour Virtual-Guided?
+
Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in San Gimignano can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in San Gimignano and add a light layer if any part of the 2-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does San Gimignano: eBike Tour Virtual-Guided start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central San Gimignano within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in San Gimignano?
+
On Outty we rank every San Gimignano experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Tuscan Cooking Class, Wine and food tasting in an organic family winery, San Gimignano Wine Tasting & Tuscan Dinner at a Local Winery. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit San Gimignano?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in San Gimignano?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
