Surrey Ride for the books!

We rented a surrey bicycle for our friends birthday and had a blast. Four of us and my friends dog. Who's rode in the front in the little kiddie basket so cute! Had a blast and would do it again in a heartbeat. We got a sunny day in the city and took amazing photos of the Golden Gate Bridge.

Response from the operator: Thanks for the wonderful review! We’re so happy you had a blast celebrating your friend’s birthday with the surrey ride. Sounds like a perfect sunny day filled with great photo ops. Hope to see you all back for another fun ride soon!

    Prepare to be scammed

This company is a scam. We rented a 4-person surrey bike, and less than 10 minutes into our ride, someone pointed out the back tire was completely flat. It took the company 20 minutes to bring us a replacement bike. As soon as we started riding the new bike, the chain and right front pedal came off almost immediately. They knew the replacement bike was broken, they were pushing it to us rather than riding it. When we asked for a refund, they refused. Not only was this a complete waste of money, but it was also a serious safety hazard. Businesses like this should not be allowed to operate in a destination as popular as the Marina/Golden Gate Park. San Francisco, please do better in regulating companies like this. If i could give zero stars I would.

Response from the operator: Hi Sakiya, Thank you for sharing your feedback regarding your surrey rental experience. I’d like to take a moment to respond. The surrey you rented was inspected both by our staff and by your group during the customary test ride, and all appeared to be in proper working order. During your ride, when the first surrey experienced a flat tire, you called us and we quickly brought a replacement. Unfortunately, the second surrey later developed a mechanical issue. Since we did not receive a call from you at that time, we were unaware and unable to provide assistance. Our rescue service exists specifically for situations like this, and—as with the first incident—we would have immediately sent help had we been contacted. When you returned, you mentioned not calling because you assumed we had no additional surreys available. In fact, we maintain a large fleet and make every effort to respond promptly whenever needed. For your group, our team suggested using two surreys rather than just one so that everyone would have more space and a more enjoyable ride. This approach also helps keep the surreys operating at their best. We’re sorry the experience did not go as smoothly as either of us would have wished, and we appreciate the time you took to share your perspective. We hope we’ll have the chance to welcome you back and provide a more enjoyable ride in the future. Best regards, Parkwide Team

    Great kids birthday party

Wonderful experience! We rented 5 surreys for a 7-yr old birthday party and the kids had a blast. The vendor was very easy to work with, friendly and flexible. Thanks for a fun afternoon!

We had a blast and it was fun to go...

We had a blast and it was fun to go around the marina, but I wish there was an easier way to get to the palace of fine arts. As a family it was fun and my youngest, 6,wanted to go longer. The rental place was easy to find, but he did seem a bit disorganized, I wonder if it is because they are brand new.

Response from the operator: Hi Jaclyn, Thank you so much for your feedback! It means a lot to us that you took the time to write about your great experience with us last year. I am so glad that you enjoyed riding your surrey around the Marina. I hope you'll come and see us again soon! Thanks again, Ashley

San Francisco: Surrey Ride Along the Scenic Marina Waterfront: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for San Francisco.

How much does San Francisco: Surrey Ride Along the Scenic Marina Waterfront cost?

    +

Prices start at $35 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in San Francisco usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does San Francisco: Surrey Ride Along the Scenic Marina Waterfront take?

    +

Plan for about 1 hour from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in San Francisco is not rushed.

Is San Francisco: Surrey Ride Along the Scenic Marina Waterfront worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 50 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (3.8/5 across 4 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in San Francisco, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule San Francisco: Surrey Ride Along the Scenic Marina Waterfront?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is San Francisco: Surrey Ride Along the Scenic Marina Waterfront suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 1-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book San Francisco: Surrey Ride Along the Scenic Marina Waterfront?

    +

Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in San Francisco can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in San Francisco and add a light layer if any part of the 1-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does San Francisco: Surrey Ride Along the Scenic Marina Waterfront start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central San Francisco within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in San Francisco?

    +

San Francisco packs Alcatraz, Muir Woods, Napa and the bay into day-trip range, which makes booking order matter more than anywhere else in the US. Alcatraz sells out weeks ahead, wine-country vans fill on weekends, and the best food walks in the Mission and Chinatown cap at a dozen people. Our ranking favours small groups and guides who live in the neighbourhood they walk. On Outty we rank every San Francisco experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Small Group Yosemite and Giant Sequoias Day Trip from San Francisco, Golden Gate Bridge Muir Woods Sausalito with Optional Alcatraz, Chinatown, North Beach, Little Italy: 7 Tastings & History. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit San Francisco?

    +

September and October, the city's real summer, once the fog season breaks. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in San Francisco?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
