🍷✨ A little wine, a little luxury, and a day well spent 🥂🌿

If you’re looking for an effortless way to escape San Francisco and experience wine country, add this tour to your list 🤍 From the moment we left the city, the day was relaxed and beautifully paced. Our driver, Steve, was wonderful—friendly, attentive, and made sure we were comfortable and arrived safely. The soft music along the way was such a lovely touch. 🚐🎶 Korbel Vineyard was absolutely beautiful and steeped in history. 🍇✨ And the Korbel Deli? Chef’s kiss 🥪🤌🏾 The perfect little bite after wine tasting. We even spotted a couple saving their sandwiches for a redwood trail picnic… effortlessly romantic. 🌲💕 Russian River Vineyard was equally charming, with more of a refined restaurant-meets -wine-tasting atmosphere. 🍷🍽️ My only note: the panoramic windows made for gorgeous views, but the bus did get a bit warm at times. ☀️ Overall, this was such a beautiful, relaxing, and memorable way to experience wine country without worrying about driving. Highly recommend for a girls’ day, a romantic outing, or simply a “I deserve a beautiful day” kind of day. 💅🏾🥂

    Budget friendly tour

There were 2 wine tastings with a stop at the redwoods between. The first winery was Korbel, which is large scale champagne production and you tour the old historic factory (no modern facilities on tour). This was my favorite of the three sites. 4 samples with brief descriptions from the winery guide, then we bought lunch to go at their deli to take to the woods. Each stop was a little over an hour. The woods were nice, it was a self directed walk, meet back at the bus at a designated time. We did not have time to walk to the Armstrong tree because we went to the picnic area to eat instead, others in the group were glad they saw it though. Plan to bring or buy lunch. The last stop was Russian river winery, this was just a tasting, 5 samples, no tour or food pairing, and they bought grapes from other vineyards. You had the opportunity to purchase food here as well. Overall we had a fun time, found the price budget friendly compared to other tours. The price is low because no food is included so plan for that, but totally reasonable considering the 1.5 hr drive. We walked a little over a mile, flat ground in the woods, so comfortable shoes are helpful. The tour guide bus driver was friendly and gave some local history on the drive and the actual wine portions were handled by winery employees. This was a large bus, but less than half full with about 10 passengers on my weekday tour. I would go again, or recommend to others.

Magical Wine and Red Woods Tour

We came to San Francisco for a girls trip and our tour guide Grady did not disappoint for our Wine and Red Woods tour. He was very knowledgeable about the areas and gave us our own tour on the bus while driving to the wineries. Our first stop at Korbel had a great history tour and delicious champagnes to taste. Doing the redwood forest in between was a nice break up (wear comfy shoes) and we got some amazing pictures. The last stop at the Russian River Vineyard was gorgeous. We paired our tasting with a couple charcuterie boards and some of their custom focaccia bread which was to die for. You can tell Grady has a passion for his tours, his job, and San Francisco. We would definitely recommend and will try another tour on our return.

Response from the operator: Thank you for your kind words! We are thrilled to hear that Grady made your girls trip to San Francisco special with his knowledgeable tour and passion for the city. We appreciate your recommendation and look forward to having you join us for another tour on your next visit.

Great experience. Learned about Korbel champaign and family. Armstrong Woods was magnificent. Redwood trees are spectacular. Our tour guide/driver Coco was knowledgeable and friendly. He provided lots of information about the sites as we traveled to the wineries and park.

San Francisco: Muir Woods and Wine Tour with Tastings: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for San Francisco.

How much does San Francisco: Muir Woods and Wine Tour with Tastings cost?

    +

Prices start at $84 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in San Francisco usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does San Francisco: Muir Woods and Wine Tour with Tastings take?

    +

Plan for about 9 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in San Francisco is not rushed.

Is San Francisco: Muir Woods and Wine Tour with Tastings worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 62 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.2/5 across 86 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in San Francisco, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule San Francisco: Muir Woods and Wine Tour with Tastings?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is San Francisco: Muir Woods and Wine Tour with Tastings suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 9-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book San Francisco: Muir Woods and Wine Tour with Tastings?

    +

Around 30 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in San Francisco can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in San Francisco and add a light layer if any part of the 9-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does San Francisco: Muir Woods and Wine Tour with Tastings start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central San Francisco within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in San Francisco?

    +

San Francisco packs Alcatraz, Muir Woods, Napa and the bay into day-trip range, which makes booking order matter more than anywhere else in the US. Alcatraz sells out weeks ahead, wine-country vans fill on weekends, and the best food walks in the Mission and Chinatown cap at a dozen people. Our ranking favours small groups and guides who live in the neighbourhood they walk. On Outty we rank every San Francisco experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Small Group Yosemite and Giant Sequoias Day Trip from San Francisco, Golden Gate Bridge Muir Woods Sausalito with Optional Alcatraz, Chinatown, North Beach, Little Italy: 7 Tastings & History. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit San Francisco?

    +

September and October, the city's real summer, once the fog season breaks. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in San Francisco?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
