Must-do tour while in Romania
Vlad was our tour guide and he was amazing beyond all expectations. He was very knowledgeable about everything one could possibly ask about. He took us to additional places along the way that were well-worth the visit and let us spend time doing the things we were interested in. The Salt Mine was amazing. The Mud Volcanoes are even better than expected. Well worth the trip. No lines or tourists at all. Vlad took us at just the right time.
Response from the operator: Thank you Laura for your words of appreciation for my colleague Vlad. We are glad to know you enjoyed the whole trip! Wishing you more safe and interesting travels!

Break away from the big city and see the countryside
This tour was a great way to get away from Bucharest for a day and see the countryside of Romania. The salt mine was surreal, the muddy volcanoes made for some great pictures even though it was raining and the LaCerta wine was some of the best I’ve had (so easy to drink). We highly recommend this tour and our tour guide, Victor, made the day even better.

A nice relaxing day
The salt mine is huge but not spectacular. The visit to Lacerta winery and the wine tasting experience was the highlight of the day, so we would strongly recommend taking this tour on a weekend. The muddy volcanoes are a nice attraction as it is not something that we've seen before. The guide, Mihai, was very courteous, made sure we made the most of our day, picked us up on time and provided useful information not just on the visited attractions but on Romanian history and attractions.

A lovely day !
I spent an amazing time. Romania has a really fertile soil to make salt or wine. I was lucky to drink 3 tasty wines in Dealu Mare Region. Mud volcanoes are so fascinating with their uninterrupted irruptions. What a drive with Mihai in the charming Romanian countryside. I definitely recommend this tour.
Response from the operator: Dear Maxime, It was such an interesting tour and with some great weather to enjoy the winery but also the Muddy Volcanoes. Thank you for your kind words! All the best to you, Mihai

long day, but amazing
What a great day in July! We left a little earlier than the description states but we missed traffic and got to the salt mine before it got to crowded. It is very cool! The winery was great (I recommend the 6 wine tasting - we did 3 reds, 2 whites and rose) and the mud volcanoes were pretty cool. By the time we got back to Bucharest, we were exhausted. Our guide (Dan) was great, telling us stories or just letting us sleep, depending on what we wanted. Highly recommend this tour!
Response from the operator: Dear Kay, Even I was not available I am glad you accepted to have Dan as your private tour guide. Thank you for your kind review. We are happy to hear again you enjoyed the tour with Dan and also were able to avoid the traffic by starting earlier. Wishing you happy travels! Mihai / I Travel in Romania

Salt Mine, the Muddy Volcanoes and Wine Tasting Private Day Tour from Bucharest!: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Bucharest.
How much does Salt Mine, the Muddy Volcanoes and Wine Tasting Private Day Tour from Bucharest! cost?
+
Prices start at $189 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Bucharest usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Salt Mine, the Muddy Volcanoes and Wine Tasting Private Day Tour from Bucharest! take?
+
Plan for about 9 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Bucharest is not rushed.
Is Salt Mine, the Muddy Volcanoes and Wine Tasting Private Day Tour from Bucharest! worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 65 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 16 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Bucharest, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Salt Mine, the Muddy Volcanoes and Wine Tasting Private Day Tour from Bucharest!?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Salt Mine, the Muddy Volcanoes and Wine Tasting Private Day Tour from Bucharest! suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 9-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Salt Mine, the Muddy Volcanoes and Wine Tasting Private Day Tour from Bucharest!?
+
Around 6 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Bucharest can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Bucharest and add a light layer if any part of the 9-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Salt Mine, the Muddy Volcanoes and Wine Tasting Private Day Tour from Bucharest! start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Bucharest within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Bucharest?
+
On Outty we rank every Bucharest experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include The Real tour of Communism, Bucharest Highlights Walking Tour, Top Gear Road, Small-group max 7 pax with Pick-up, Transfăgărăşan. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Bucharest?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Bucharest?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
