About this experience
Fewer than 200 trekkers walk this trail each year. No crowds, no Wi-Fi teahouses, no souvenir shops. Just authentic Gurung and Tamang stone villages where life has been unchanged for centuries. Four distinct landscapes: subtropical valleys, dense bamboo forests, terraced farmland, and alpine rhododendron woodland. Views of Ganesh Himal and Tibetan peaks. Natural hot springs at Tatopani. The historic ruby-mining region that gives the valley its name. Max altitude only 3,842m at Pangsang Pass — stunning scenery without the altitude sickness risk of Everest or Annapurna. Our family runs the Nagarjun Learning Centre at Saldum village on the trail, supporting 70 children. Trekkers visit the centre near Kintang Phedi. All funds from this trek support the learning centre. Organised within 48 hours. Our guides speak Gurung and Tamang and know every family on the route. This is Nepal before the brochures.

Unique Ruby valley
I am so grateful that in the place where I was staying, the homestay owner Ganesh convinced me to join the Ruby valley trek. I did not even plan to do a trek, but it got my I attention :) the trek was amazing, the lifetime experience! For me (who is the worst trekker ever) it was challenging, but I had so many adventures, that I am glad that I did it ! The best part was not even the trek, but the cultural experience, I found there and the locals that I met on the road. Also my guide Janak, was speaking fluently in english and he told us various stories about Nepal and the Tibetian region, which is unique and barely touched by the tourist. If you wanna see the real Nepal, I recommend this trek 💯

A hidden ruby!
I am so grateful for our Ruby Valley trek. This was truly a life lasting experience for me. Ganesh who runs The Everest Holliday is a great and hospitable guy who invited us to dinner at his private home and checked on us during the entire trip. Our guide Terens grew up in Tipling, one of the stops on the trek, and was very knowledgeable about the area as a whole. He’s a great person and became a good friend of ours. The trek is totally off the beaten path and will show you the true Nepali country side. For unbelievable scenery and a unique look into Nepali and specifically Tamang culture, this is the hidden gem (one might even say ruby) to go for! All of my warmest recommendations go to this trek and establishment!

Ruby Valley in Rainy season is hard, but rewarding!
After volunteering in one of many social projects conducted by Shreejan and Samjhana we did the ruby valley trek. I decided to take my mountainbike with me, which I would not recommend, because the trek is just too steep. I ended up carrying it quite a lot. Our very strong, super nice and kind porter and guide Pema carried our heavy stuff all the way. Doing all that in rainy season added another difficulty, but the scenery is so rewarding! Even though it was tough I don't regret doing it at all!

Amazing trek
I had an amazing trek with this company. Due to corona outbrake I had to cancel my plans for my stay in Nepal. The company helped me to make a new plan for my time here, all adjusted to my preferences! I had an 14 dat trek trough different villages and landscapes. The guide had a lot of information about the mountains and the people living in these mountains. This trek was a great experience! I highly recommend The Everest Holiday to everybody who plans any trekking in Nepal.
