AMAZING TOUR!!!
This was an amazing experience. Our guide knew the road so well. We wouldn't have experienced the Road to Hana if we had driven it on our own. SO many beautiful stops. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!

Perfect Day on the Road to Hana
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ We had the absolute pleasure of spending the day with Alec on a private Road to Hana tour, and it was hands down one of the highlights of our trip to Maui. Alec was so much more than a tour guide. His knowledge of the island, its history, culture, and hidden gems made every stop meaningful and memorable. He was personable, professional, and incredibly accommodating, making us feel like we were exploring with a longtime friend rather than being on a tour. What truly set Alec apart was his talent behind the camera. Throughout the day, he captured amazing photos and videos of our experience that we never could have gotten on our own. Not only did he know all the best locations, but he also took the time to make sure every shot was perfect. We came away with incredible memories and beautiful keepsakes from the day. The Road to Hana is breathtaking on its own, but Alec elevated the entire experience. His enthusiasm, attention to detail, and genuine passion for what he does are unmatched. If you’re considering a Road to Hana tour, do yourself a favor and request Alec. You won’t just get a tour guide, you’ll get an exceptional photographer, videographer, storyteller, and ambassador for Maui. Mahalo, Alec, for an unforgettable day!

10000/10 jeep tour ❤️
Our day with Alec was amazing, he knows this mountain intimately, pretty sure he can drive it with his eyes closed, took us to many waterfalls, black sand beach (off the beaten path) and the bamboo forest, and much more he was knowledgeable, helpful to others driving the road and a great time, Alec made sure my husband and I got the most of this once in a lifetime experience! He also does the MOST to get that amazing photo of you, I’m talking running up the road to get to the other side to photo you with the most amazing background he was a lunatic in the very BEST way and made our road to Hana trip! There’s no way we would have enjoyed it like we did if we drove ourselves. Plenty of bathroom breaks and he even got us Auntie Sandy’s banana bread and some Hawaii golden pineapple on the way ❤️ if you’re thinking of booking this tour with Alec the answer is YES do it ! This trip and Alec will be etched in our memories and our hearts forever!

Amazing Day!
Alec is the man! I took the time to make sure we were taken care of. He was able to show us things that most others miss. If you are going to drive Hana, you must do it with Alec. Was the highlight of our week!

Why this scores 79
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Road To Hana: Maui Waterfall Hiking Tour in Private Jeep: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Lahaina.
How much does Road To Hana: Maui Waterfall Hiking Tour in Private Jeep cost?
+
Prices start at $349 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Lahaina usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Road To Hana: Maui Waterfall Hiking Tour in Private Jeep take?
+
Plan for about 8 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Lahaina is not rushed.
Is Road To Hana: Maui Waterfall Hiking Tour in Private Jeep worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 79 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 372 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable most popular in Lahaina, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Road To Hana: Maui Waterfall Hiking Tour in Private Jeep?
+
No. This experience is sold on a non-refundable basis, so only book a date you are confident about. Similar experiences in the city do offer free cancellation if flexibility matters more than price.
Is Road To Hana: Maui Waterfall Hiking Tour in Private Jeep suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 8-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Road To Hana: Maui Waterfall Hiking Tour in Private Jeep?
+
Around 130 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Lahaina can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Lahaina and add a light layer if any part of the 8-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Road To Hana: Maui Waterfall Hiking Tour in Private Jeep start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Lahaina within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Lahaina?
+
On Outty we rank every Lahaina experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Snorkel Sail Adventure off Ka'anapali Beach in Maui, Full-Circle "Reverse" - Luxury Road to Hana Tour from West Maui, Maui Nui Luau at the Sheraton Maui Resort & Spa. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Lahaina?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Lahaina?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
