What you get

    About this experience

An amazing sunset is just the beginning of a dazzling evening under the stars at Maui's longest-running luau, where beach-side seating, free-flowing drinks, all-you-care-to-eat buffet dinner, and authentic Polynesian dance combine for the perfect Hawaiian evening. Your evening begins with a cold beverage and photo opportunities as you enjoy watching the sun dip behind the horizon of the Pacific Ocean. The dinner buffet features authentic Hawaiian fare including kalua pork cooked in a traditional imu, an underground oven that cooks the meat to tender perfection. There's even a kids' buffet featuring chicken nuggets, hot dogs, and Maui potato chips. After dinner, the stage comes alive with rhythmic drumming, traditional Hawaiian, Tahitian, Samoan, and Maori performances and thrilling fire-knife dances. Very friendly except the bartender.

The show was very good and the entertainers were very talented. The food was good for buffet style. All of the staff were very warm, friendly and professional with the exception of the male bartender. He was rude, arrogant and a total jerk. Such a sharp contrast to everyone else who worked there.

Awesome show - let down by food

This review doesn’t reflect the talent of the dancers and the experience of the show itself - I’d give that 5 ⭐ the welcome, their interaction with our children and the servers were great! This is only let down by the food - very poor so I’d suggest eat before, most plates on our shared table were left full! Seen some comments on the drinks but no issue here - good selection, short queue and table service. Still recommend it for the quality of show but don’t go there for dinner which makes the price disproportionate.

Response from the operator: We are glad the talent of our dancers made such a strong impression, and that our team connected so warmly with your children. It is disappointing that the food did not complement the show or feel worthwhile for the price. Your comments about the meal have been shared with our kitchen team. We appreciate your recommendation of the show and your honest perspective.

Find a different luau, not worth the price. Bad food.

I wanted to love this. There were some good parts. My kids liked the dancing, we got leis. That was about the end of the good. This was the worst food I had in Hawaii. Chicken was dry. Pork lacked any kind of flavor. Our waiter guy asked if we wanted drinks, we requested soda..... it never came. At the very end he came back and asked if we wanted drinks which we again asked for cokes which we did get the 2nd time. I have been to many luaus and this one just doesn't come close to living up to the others I have been to. The dancers were ok but it felt like there should have been more entertainment while eating/getting food as the dancing did not start until later then when it did start they took a break....... they had just started. The dancers were not what I was expecting..... not like what you see at other shows. We ended up leaving early. Also they tell you to come early I assumed to get a seat..... nope it was assigned seating and we were as far back as we could get..... not great with 2 small kids who want to see and me being very short it was very hard to see the show. It was very disappointing. I would not go again, especially for the price paid.

Response from the operator: Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us, Kristin. We are truly sorry that your evening at Myths of Maui luau was not what you had hoped for, especially in terms of the meal and overall experience. It is disappointing to know the food quality fell short of your expectations and that the beverage service did not go smoothly. We also understand that the entertainment and seating arrangement impacted your family's enjoyment, and we regret that your children had difficulty seeing the show. Your comments have been shared with our culinary and Guest Relations teams so we can take a closer look at these areas. We appreciate your honesty and the chance to learn from your visit.

Myths of Maui Luau Dinner and Show: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Lahaina.

How much does Myths of Maui Luau Dinner and Show cost?

    +

Prices start at $211 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Lahaina usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Myths of Maui Luau Dinner and Show take?

    +

Plan for about 2.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Lahaina is not rushed.

Is Myths of Maui Luau Dinner and Show worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 64 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4/5 across 1,243 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable most popular in Lahaina, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Myths of Maui Luau Dinner and Show?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Myths of Maui Luau Dinner and Show suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 2.5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Myths of Maui Luau Dinner and Show?

    +

Around 435 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Lahaina can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Lahaina and add a light layer if any part of the 2.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Myths of Maui Luau Dinner and Show start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Lahaina within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Lahaina?

    +

On Outty we rank every Lahaina experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Road To Hana: Maui Waterfall Hiking Tour in Private Jeep, Snorkel Sail Adventure off Ka'anapali Beach in Maui, Full-Circle "Reverse" - Luxury Road to Hana Tour from West Maui. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Lahaina?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Lahaina?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
