The actual best tour!
This was the most perfect combination of Haleakala and Road To Hana. Our tour guide Chad was AMAZING!! We could not have had a better time!!! Chad was friendly and knowledgeable. The trip was such a good experience for my 3 teenagers, my husband and myself. If there’s any question what tour to book for your family I’d do this tour 100x again!
Response from the operator: Aloha, thanks so much for the amazing review. Chad is phenomenal, such a special person with so much passion and knowledge. I am truly blessed to have the very best drivers/guides on the island. We do our best to stand out from other tour companies that are very cookie-cutter. We go above and beyond to WOW our guests with the best tour they will ever take while on Maui. We are thrilled you chose Aloha Eco Adventures to take you on this amazing adventure. It is truly a beautiful place! Mahalo, Laurie

A great tour with Chad!
We had an absolutely amazing day with Chad on the tour! He was very informative and made sure we were comfortable, had snacks and drinks and many restroom breaks throughout! We especially loved our stop at the Crater and the waterfalls were beautiful too. We were even lucky enough to be the only family on the tour and have a private experience! Highly recommend this trip, it’s once in a lifetime and you’ll be lucky if you get Chad as the tour guide.
Response from the operator: Aloha, thank you for the wonderful review. Chad is fantastic. He has great passion and a wealth of knowledge. He always takes extra special care of our guests. Perfect outing for the family
We are on a family trip to Maui and did this tour yesterday. This trip is a mixture of repeat visitors and first time visitors. We loved this option of seeing two of the biggest sites in one trip. As a party of 10 we chose to do a private tour. Eric was our tour guide and he was absoulutely fabulous from start to finish! We loved spending the time together as a family since we had ventured from around the country. We were able to customize our day and go at our own pace. Eric was extremely knowlegeable about the island and our journey. He was able to answer all questions and for those of us who had been before, he was able to explain some of the changes that we were seeing compared to our prior trip. Having someone else to navigate the road to Hana is always a win! Doing the private tour allowed us to fellowship with one another and just sit back and enjoy the scenery and his Hawaiian playlist. The van was clean, spacious, and well maintained. The stash of snacks and beverages kept us fueled up for our day. The day was perfect and we would recommend this trip, and Eric, hands down! It was money and time well spent and it will surely be the highlight of our time together here in Maui.
Response from the operator: Aloha, we appreciate the great review and acknowledge Eric's awesomeness. He is extremely knowledgeable, truly loves what he does, and really enjoys taking great care of his guests. We do our best to stand out from other tour companies that are very cookie-cutter. We go above and beyond to WOW our guests with the best tour they will ever take while on Maui. I am glad to hear you enjoyed the fabulous farm to table lunch, snacks, and drinks. We are thrilled you choose Aloha Eco Adventures to take you on this amazing adventure. It is truly a beautiful place! Mahalo, Laurie

Why this scores 72
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Road to Hana Halfway and Haleakala National Park: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Maui.
How much does Road to Hana Halfway and Haleakala National Park cost?
+
Prices start at $259 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Maui usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Road to Hana Halfway and Haleakala National Park take?
+
Plan for about 10 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Maui is not rushed.
Is Road to Hana Halfway and Haleakala National Park worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 72 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 37 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Maui, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Road to Hana Halfway and Haleakala National Park?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Road to Hana Halfway and Haleakala National Park suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 10-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Road to Hana Halfway and Haleakala National Park?
+
Around 13 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Maui can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Maui and add a light layer if any part of the 10-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Road to Hana Halfway and Haleakala National Park start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Maui within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Maui?
+
Maui's three signature days are the Hana road, the Haleakala summit sunrise and the Molokini snorkel sail, and all three are logistics problems as much as experiences. Sunrise summit entry is permit-controlled, Hana is a ten-hour driving day, and Molokini boats vary wildly in size. Our ranking rewards operators who handle permits and keep boat capacity low. On Outty we rank every Maui experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Molokini Crater + South Maui Coast Adventure from Kihei, Maui, Maui: VIP Private Road to Hana Tour with Pick Up, Road to Hana Adventure Maui Tour with Lunch. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Maui?
+
April to May and September to October. Whale season runs December to April. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Maui?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
