Great father-son moment at Bandia Reserve!

We did the Bandia Safari with my son and we had a great time together. It’s a great experience to live with your family. The reserve is well organized and allows to observe many animals in a pleasant natural setting: giraffes, rhinoceros, zebras, antelope... It is impressive to see them evolve in semi-freedom. The guides are professional, interesting and take the time to explain everything along the way. My son loved the experience, especially getting so close to the animals. It is both fun and educational, a real beautiful memory to share. Practical advice: plan cash if you want to buy souvenirs at the shop or visit the reptile area. This avoids any unpleasant surprises and allows you to fully enjoy the visit. We definitely recommend this excursion if you are staying in Senegal, especially with your family.

    Bandia Animal Reserve Visit

We went on an organised trip with TUI from the RIU Baobab hotel. The trip was generally well organised and the guide from the reserve spoke good English and was very informative of all the animals we saw. We were quite surprised at how many we did see, considering how large the Reserve is.

Response from the operator: Hi Paul You did the experience with another company We invite you to explore more Senegal Thank you Pape

What to do during a trip to Senegal!

Family holidays in Senegal (10 people including 4 children) We visited the reserve thanks to Mamadou who organized a tailor-made tour according to what we wanted to do: Bandia reserve and lions in a cage car; visit a typical village and a school with the children; visit the island of gorée and canoe ride. Mamadou explained to us with all the passion he has for his country ☺️, very involved and do everything to ensure that we are well in our visits! You can contact him on Whatsapp at +221 776149063 The visit to the reserve was really great, we had a guide who explained all the animals and we saw almost all of them! A happiness for adults and children 😃

Response from the operator: Bonjour Nous avons reçu votre avis et son très heureux que vous aviez passé de bons moments. Cependant ce n’est pas avec nous que vous avez voyagé. Nous vous invitons à découvrir le Senegal avec nous Merci

Great way to encounter some of Africa's animals

This an excellent day excursion from Dakar. It's well organized, the guides really know their animals and they keep you informed. The ride lasts for a couple of hours, there's some shade from the roof cover but arms and legs might need some sunblock. You'll need water. The ride is bumpy but not rough and the seats are comfortable enough. The animal encounters are really excellent, especially for a first time. We saw giraffe, Zebra, hippos, ostriches, antelope and more. Great photo opportunities. There's a decent snack bar at the end near the croc pool but you'll need to keep the monkeys off your snacks! There's a bathroom stop before after.

Response from the operator: Thank you so much Always welcome

Reserve of Bandia: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Dakar.

How much does Reserve of Bandia cost?

    +

Prices start at $290 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Dakar usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Reserve of Bandia take?

    +

Plan for about 7 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Dakar is not rushed.

Is Reserve of Bandia worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 60 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.6/5 across 12 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Dakar, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Reserve of Bandia?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Reserve of Bandia suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 7-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Reserve of Bandia?

    +

Around 4 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Dakar can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Dakar and add a light layer if any part of the 7-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Reserve of Bandia start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Dakar within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Dakar?

    +

On Outty we rank every Dakar experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Explore Dakar and Gorée Island full day, Taxi DSS to DAKAR,SALY,RIU HOTEL,SOMONE ( please check Options), Full-Day DAKAR city / GOREE Island Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Dakar?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Dakar?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.

What is included in Reserve of Bandia?

    +

Included: All Fees and Taxes. Not included: Carbonated beverages. Always check the voucher for the final list before you travel.

Does Reserve of Bandia include hotel pickup?

    +

Yes, pickup is offered, or you can meet at the start point instead from 56 listed pickup locations in and around Dakar. Be ready about 45 minutes before the start time. You can also enter a custom pickup address when booking.

What languages is Reserve of Bandia offered in?

    +

It is offered in English and French. Pick your language when choosing a date and time, as not every departure runs in every language.

Will I get instant confirmation and a mobile ticket for Reserve of Bandia?

    +

Confirmation is sent by the operator after booking, usually within 48 hours; if it is not confirmed you are not charged. Mobile tickets are accepted, so you can show the voucher on your phone.

Is Reserve of Bandia wheelchair or stroller accessible?

    +

What happens to Reserve of Bandia if the weather is bad?

    +

This experience depends on good weather. If it is canceled because of poor weather, you are offered a different date or a full refund.
