Parque Nacional El Choco
Local to our old grotto is a botanical park with over 30 free-roaming squirrel monkeys. These monkeys love visitors and love to sit on shoulders, heads and feed on special plants. This is the best photo opportunity in the DR. At the bottom of the grotto is an enclosure for our rescue capuchin monkeys that have been physically or nutritionally abused. There are hundreds of other animals roaming freely throughout the park.”

Puerto plata excursion
Leandro and Andy were nothing short of professional, friendly and understanding. Unfortunately there was confusion as to which port in Puerto plata we were coming into and we ended up at the wrong one. They waited for us and when we were able to call them they picked us up at the other location. As a result of this we only had time to do one part of the excursion. My children enjoyed the monkey land experience very much. Everyone there was welcoming, professional, friendly. Since we were unable to enjoy the zipline Andy gave us the option to go through another company, do a city tour or get a refund. He said he just wanted to make we were satisfied. I very much appreciated everything they did for us and would definitely book an excursion with them if we return in the future. Leandro, our driver was such a nice, sweet , attentive person. He truly made a difference in this experience given the situation. Many thanks to him

À moment to remember
We loved the experience and being well supported with lots of guides showing us how to do it. Being a person who is afraid of heights the view was so beautiful that I forgot the height with the trees below us

Our agents always strive to give their best and ensure every guest feels cared for. We look forward to welcoming you again in the future!

Great fun!
A great experience! The scenery is beautiful, the monkeys are adorable, and the zipline was loads of fun! The guides are very friendly and helpful, and my tween kids really enjoyed spending the morning here learning about the monkeys and traveling the zip lines. Also our driver was very friendly and we learned a lot about the area as well during the drive. Thank you!

A fun time
This was a last minute excursion my friend and I booked the day before. It was super easy to connect with Anddy on WhatsApp, and he was able to pick us up at a different location than our hotel. What I loved: Monkey Jungle is a nonprofit and half of the entrance fee goes toward providing healthcare to people in need. The squirrel monkeys are so adorable and when you go in to see them they will jump all over you. You can also feed the capuchin monkeys but you they are in an enclosed area. You can still feed them, and George was my favorite. He only likes the ladies though. The zip lining was fun and it was my first time trying it. They are really serious about safety, and if the instructors feel you can’t do it safely, they will do the course with you. There are 7 zip lines in total. What I didn’t realize was that the first few require you to hike upwards. My Apple Watch said I climbed 69 flights of stairs today! I have asthma and it wasn’t easy. But I made it up! I decided to stop at the halfway point because I was hot and tired, but it was peaceful to sit on the swing and take in the scenery while the rest of the group continued on. What I didn’t love: the road getting there was 3 miles of potholes. Take some anti nausea meds with you because it was rough. There’s not a lot the tour guide can do about it since it is the only road. But he was careful to avoid bumps wherever he could.
Response from the operator: Thank you for sharing your experience! We’re overjoyed to know we exceeded your expectations. Your kind words inspire us to continue delivering unforgettable moments. We hope to welcome you again soon

Why this scores 57
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Puerto Plata: Monkey Enconter & Zip line Adventure: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Cabarete.
How much does Puerto Plata: Monkey Enconter & Zip line Adventure cost?
+
Prices start at $120 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Cabarete usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Puerto Plata: Monkey Enconter & Zip line Adventure take?
+
Plan for about 3 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Cabarete is not rushed.
Is Puerto Plata: Monkey Enconter & Zip line Adventure worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 57 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 5 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Cabarete, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Puerto Plata: Monkey Enconter & Zip line Adventure?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Puerto Plata: Monkey Enconter & Zip line Adventure suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 3-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Puerto Plata: Monkey Enconter & Zip line Adventure?
+
Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Cabarete can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Cabarete and add a light layer if any part of the 3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Puerto Plata: Monkey Enconter & Zip line Adventure start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Cabarete within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Cabarete?
+
On Outty we rank every Cabarete experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Monkeyland and Zipline Adventure from Puerto Plata, Puerto Plata City Private Tour, Monkeyland Puerto Plata. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Cabarete?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Cabarete?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
